Could be Calgarys first ever 1st OA pick. People really focus too much on the Oilers, I strongly suggest seeking psychiatric assistance. Its a disease.

Wanted Chicago to beat Edmonton in qualifying round. I have now changed my mind. No chance I want the oilers to have a chance at #1

87.5% chance the pick is 9th-15th.
Like I said, it's basically: would you rather beat out 23 other teams for the chance at winning the Cup when you're a big underdog or would you rather beat out 7 other teams for the chance at drafting a franchise-altering player who could put you in contention every year?

Tough call

Maybe since Hall is coming to Calgary, the Flames won!

If we lose to Winnipeg, we better sign Hall before the 2nd round of the lottery.

Ummm what was the point in having the lottery when you don’t even know who gets the first pick? Like I get trying to stay in the news cycle but this is just dumb.

Dealing with a 1-2 punch of Byfield and Turcotte or Laf/Turcotte on the same is going to be a pain.

Maybe it's the beer talking but the Flames need to sign Hall as as soon as possible if they lose. And I don't want Hall.

Literally a higher chance of winning 1st overall than winning the Cup lol

Cry about it

What's the plan if this whole tournament never happens and there are no qualifying round losers?

If the Flames lose to Winnipeg and get a 12.5% shot at #1, that's fine... but to actually cheer for the Flames to lose is embarrassing.

In that scenario, there's been talks that the lottery would be redone and EVERY team would have a chance at the lottery because in that scenario, it's as if there really was no season and there was zero benefit for the top teams in the NHL.

EDIT: (below) Nevermind I guess

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
If, for whatever reason, the play-in cannot be completed....the remaining bottom 8 teams will have a one-in-eight shot at the top selection
