I've always liked going to Belle Pattate (Now 514 poutine), but I haven't gone in years. I really liked their smoked meat poutine.
Crazy Weed I felt over experimented with flavours at times in the same way Ten Foot Henry does here. But this was many, many, many years ago when I worked in Canmore. It looks like the current menu has been significantly refined in recent years.
Rockey Mountain Bagel is a good place for a snack.
I quite liked breakfast at Aroma, but somehow I didn't like their lunch or dinner foods at all.

Forget about the Wood and Iron Goat, the inconsistency is very frustrating. If you want a great patio for a nice day hit the restaurant at the Canmore Golf and Curling Club.
Best Pub food is usually the Georgetown Inn.
Chez Francois is a good restaurant and is incredible for breakfast.
Tapas, The Trough, The Crazy Weed, Sage Bistro, Blake and Rustica at Silvertip are probably still the best choices for higher end stuff.
Where the Buffalo Roam by the Grizzly Paw is a must stop if the kids are sleeping! Wonderful cocktail bar and Tappas.
If you want spaghetti or lasagna Patrino’s is great for that.

Omg Patrinos pizza. I miss that. Like I miss early 2000s Peking Ginger. Is pizza construction still alive? They held the title of best pizza in Banff/Canmore for a couple of years and then slipped a bit.

Still the same owners? That smoked meat poutine is wicked awesome. I wonder if they had to change the name because of the La Belle Patate here in Victoria.

Pizza construction moved from over by the high school into the 4 Points hotel off the highway a few years ago. One of the restaurants that was in the industrial park was the French Quarter, it was an awesome restaurant until they moved over by the Summit and unfortunately like all of the previous restaurants in that location it died off. At least the old location makes great poutine!

Yeah that place by the summit was cursed. Friend of mine had a pub/bistro there in the midst of it. Think the french quarter took over after her. Dont know why that spot can't hold a business.

The Patrino's family sold the restaurant last year to a banff restaurant company, I forget which one. Bumpers or Melissa's. They defintly changed some things as far as food prep.

I've been to the Sensory twice now and I think it's the best restaurant in Canmore (which is IMO a fairly low hurdle). It's a bit pricey but worth it and has some great views too.

Terrible service and the food was so salty it was in edible. One of my worst dining experience in Alberta by far. The diners seated next to us were similarly disappointed.

Logged in to recommend taking the drive up to Engadine and am happy to see it already recommended! The one sort of odd thing is dinner gets served in the main dining room with all the other guests at the same time so you are forced to interact with strangers a bit but it turns out to be kind of quaint. They do a high tea as well during the afternoons which is unreal.
Have done tapas and can vouch for that, it was great.
Crazy weed is above average, I don’t get the hype though.
My wife swears by the sushi at Chefs studio.
Sage bistro was return worthy.
Francois’ has a REALLY good breakfast...
There is a little hole in the wall pub North off the main drag on 8th St that I took my kids into after a hike one day and remember being very pleasantly surprised but I can’t remember the name. Might have been tavern 1883 but honestly that’s not ringing a bell.

Pretty much exactly my experience. Possibly the worst service I've ever had, and food wasn't very good. It was many years ago now, but it was so bad I won't give it another chance. Maybe if I lived in Canmore I would, but as a once a year for one weekend visitor, I don't think it will ever make the cut again.

I thought it was good when I went a couple of years ago.
John Gilchrist was salt blind though.

I'm pretty sure it was the same guys after the name change. I like the fact that the poutine there doesn't make me as bloated as poutine from many other places.

Probably not the Drake. Last Call comes to mind if it is still there.
