If Dube isn't ready, I'd much rather have Buddy Robinson or Adam Ruzicka over Josh Leivo.

I mean, if you're inserting another player surely it's for Nordstrom first.

Lots of Leaf fans think Tkachuk purposely kneed Campbell in the back of the head when going down at the end of the game. I'll say the way he pulls the knee back does seem a little strange. What say you Flames fans?

Is the some kind of Flames Jedi mind trick?
There's nothing to see here. Watch Monahan in the middle. He is the one you're looking for.

Not trolling. Wondering what the thoughts were.
Also looking forward to the next game. It will be interesting to see if Simmonds does anything.

Did he intend to knee the guy in the head? No.
Did he accidentally on purpose 'fall' onto the goalie? Absolutely, no question.
By all means, Toronto, send players after him to take penalties and lose you the game, that's exactly the plan. Tkachuk knows what he's doing, he's damn good at it.

As a Leaf fan in the past I would have known 100% there would be no reaction from the team. But I'm interested to see if the new "character" guys like Simmonds or Bogo do anything.

Ward still makes some questionable decisions. Putting a struggling 4th line out at the end of the 2nd period in a tie game seems like a bad idea and they were full marks for a terrible shift giving up the powerplay that resulted in the Leafs 2nd goal. Lucic is hurting the team right now. It will be interesting to see if the politics dictate him staying in the lineup because he's been the Flames worst player by a mile to start this season.

I agree, this is true.
But to be fair, if the biggest headscratchers and complaints involve fourth line wingers, then we're pretty good.
Back in the Gulutzan days the entire lineup made no sense. And there was no sign of improvement.
Pretty much all coaches have their perks. It's about how well they can adjust and optimize.

He's not Gulutzan levels of bad but I don't feel he's a great strategist as his game management continues to be below average.

I hope when Dube comes back we get to see Mangi on a line with Gaudreau and Monahan. Put all of our scoring skill on the top two lines, Leivo, Backlund and Bennett is a great third line.

Lol you're gonna have a rough time this year if Tkachuk is going to ruffle your feathers that easy.
I say please do. The resident Leafs, Canucks and Oilers posters can bond over your hatred and envy.

Complete non event, so I am not going to get into a debate about it. One simple comment, and then I am done.
Tkachuk loses his balance and starts to fall. What is the first thing he does? He puts his hand down to take some of the weight off Campbell so that he doesn't land with all of his weight on Campbell's head.
Anyone who thinks this is some kind of egregious play is a blind homer. You need some thicker skin if you think that was something to get worked up about.

I love Lindholm.
Think of how much buzz he would generate if he were a Leaf!
