I would suggest spending the most time finding a putter. It sounds like you want a new driver/woods as well? I have a Callaway XR16 driver and love it, if you're trying some out I would recommend giving it a shot.
For irons you'll need to go check some out but you should be able to find something under $800. It looks like the Taylormade M2's are on sale for $800. I think these Callaway's are 2 years old, but if they feel good they are a bit cheaper for you http://www.golftown.com/Callaway-Gol...l-Shafts-18223

Using some time off in lieu for 18 holes this afternoon, could not miss out on early summer day, just hoping the wind doesnt get up to 60 as forecasted on Enviro Canada. keep em low

Make sure you get fit, well worth the money for something you will use for 5 years, or so.

Check out Golf Traders in Avenida. Lots of options there for new-ish equipment that won't break the bank.

How often do you play? Do you have a consistent swing, and with that I mean do you find the center of the face of the club on 90% of your shots? What are your goals? This will likely decide what your next course of action is.
My advice would be to go to a store that allows you to hit a number of clubs. I recommend you do so blind. Don't look at brand, just have the guy give you a series of clubs and see what feels best. Keep the top two or three and then see if they have demo sets that you can take out. Take them to the range and hit all the clubs to get a feel. Then play a round. I think you'll find your long term set of clubs that way.
If you say you have a good swing and can find the middle of the club face with 90% of your shots, then I might suggest another avenue. Be wary of being over-sold.

This man speaks the truth.
Golf traders has a fantastic selection and they are great about allowing you to try and trade different clubs. I always seem to end up with a few extra clubs to try out when I go there.

Played round #12 this morning and finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes. We were suprised at the fast pace of play for a Saturday morning as it is usually slow.

Golf Traders has a great selection, however the prices are better on eBay or the classifieds on GolfWRX.

Get fitted. Hit different clubs and shafts into a screen and get an analysis as to which ones are helping your swing the most.
It doesn't really cost any more to be fitted. And your game will thank you.

Walking or not I congratulate for playing that many holes. Not sure i'd have the mental interest to play that many
On Tuesdays I play 18 in the afternoon and then another 9 for mens club in the evening.

Our course has a special price for mens league guys for an extra $200 or so, and they can play unlimited golf on Wednesdays before ML. Quite a few people take advantage of that.
How does ML work at High River, teams vs teams etc?

Golf is included in our men's league on Wednesday.

Ours is too, but that includes 9 holes of golf, so for an extra $200 a year or so ML players can play as much as they want on Wednesdays.
I'm a course member so I can play as much as I want anyday.
