Man steals a plane in Seattle, tries to do a barrel roll, gets shot down?
I guess people will do anything to get out of Washington.

Twitter says it was a Horizon Air Q400. Gate agent for Horizon stole the plane.

Probably not, its doubtful that he would have been shot down over a civillian area. More then likely he was an idiot that had no idea that flying a plane is actually harder then MS flight simulator.

Mechanic or gate agent.
Audio has guy wondering over the air if he’d get a job if he pull off the landing and ATc guy says they’ll probably give him any job he wants. He says yeah right, im a white guy.
Claims he played video games so he knows a bit what to do.
Etc. Audio of conversation is in the link but interspersed with all the other Seatac atc scrambling to keep planes away.

This is absolutely nuts. So did he run out of fuel or was he shot down?

He asked ATC about doing a backflip, maybe a barell roll, and said if he pulled those off he’d go nose down and call it a night.

I'm surprised it took places like CNN so long to finally report it. Usually even with limited info they will announce something right away.

From what I could piece together for the audio, he threw up a bit , and then wanted to do a barrel roll,or flip, and knew that was going to be that because as he said, he didn’t think he had a screw loose until tonight. At one of the last pieces of audio, one of the guys trying to talk him down said “great job for doing that, now let’s get this back on track.”
So maybe he did pull off a loop or roll and did call it a night, so to speak, which is in the last video taken moments before he goes down. But he crashed it on a pretty unihabited island.

One of the guys who uploaded a cell phone vids on Twitter said he just did a loop de loop, although that sounds pretty unlikely, assuming he meant barrel roll, but is that even possible on a plane with that wing span? I figured he wouldn’t be able to get it to rotate fast enough without it losing all lift and falling from the sky.
