It's just been Boomer's schtick for a while now. He's not talking on any insider info, he's gone down the rationale before. He also presses it to be obnoxious/get a response on the feedback line.

He and Gio don't seem to be best of friends.... wouldn't bringing him back just be a huge slap in the face to our captain and send the wrong message to the rest of the guys?
If he ever returned, he wouldn't be brought back to take over the team as Captain, heck he wouldn't even be an Assistant Captain. I don't see it as a slap in the face. Fighting on the ice doesn't always equate to a personal grudge between 2 players. It's part of the game.

I seem to recall an interview with Tre shortly after Iginla was traded to LA. He was asked if they looked into Iginla and he answered something to the effect that they kicked the tires but there was no interest from the player. Fans just need to move on. Be thankful for all of the great years he was here. Be excited about the team we're building now. I, for one, am happy to see an Iginla-free Flames (and it has nothing to do with what he could offer)

Is there a particular reason for the bad blood Iggy appears to have for Calgary?
I think it has something to do with his nixing of the initial trade to Boston and basically demanding to go to Pittsburgh instead even when Boston was on his trade list. Not sure of any direct player feuds.

Correct, I heard from a pretty reliable source that they had a deal in place for Iggy last winter for Wideman but Iggy didn't waive. Not claiming to be an insider... just right place right time.
I wouldn't say bad blood from Iggy. I believe it's the Flames that are not at all interested in bringing him back.
I am not buying that. Just from a PR move and the money they could make off his return on a cheap deal I have no doubt if they thought they could bring him back as a depth player they would certainly kick the tires there. I think Iginla genuinely has no interest in the Flames anymore.
