If you're a team struggling to attract a top free agent, why would you want a guy who appears to be the least engaged player in the league? He's already on a max so his likelihood of going into "Operation: Shutdown" if he gets dealt to Sacramento is basically 99.99%. The contract thing is everything, he's owed more than $147 million over the next four years. For a guy who literally passes up layups that's a pretty outrageous contract to want on your team. Outside of the McCollum change of scenery trade I can't see anyone offering anything of value for him. His contract almost demands the Sixers add in any trade, except they will owe a 15% trade kicker. In the end unless they simply want to dump him just to have him off the roster there's a decent chance he's still a Sixer next year.

Longshot Simmons trade idea:

Indiana needs defense, particularly at the PF/wing positions. They've got lots of passing and shooting and some great P&R guards. They've also got two good young centers who are proved pretty incompatible on-court together. Obviously, a young C as a main asset isn't interesting to Philly. Toronto desperately needs a young C. They've got assets that Philly wants. So:

to Philly: Lowry/Boucher/lottery-protected Toronto FRP
to Indiana: Simmons/Toronto second-round pick
to Toronto: Whichever of Turner/Sabonis Indiana wants to move / Holiday

Why this is a long shot: I think that Philly and Toronto would both be happy with this. Indiana's got player-personnel issues and are burning through coaches. Throw a difficult-to-coach guy into the mix and it makes it a tough situation for a new HC, plus Senator's point about Simmons checking out in somewhere like Sacramento probably holds true in Indiana, too.

I'm renaming my dog VanVleet if his good luck wins us the lottery tonight.

In a draft that is deep, but still viewed as top four heavy....nice.

Well Cunningham is viewed as a virtual lock at #1, so Suggs, Mobley and Green are the other three widely viewed top prospects.

The league unnecessarily interviewing random ex picks to prolong this coverage.

#4 is a great options spot. If the guy you want falls you can take him, you can trade back to try and grab someone else on draft night, you could use #4 right now as trade bait for a star or near-star. #2 would have been ideal if you can't get #1, but still a good night for the Raps.

I’m also wondering if 3 would be more or less ideal than 4
