Yeah, they were touring with kamelot and Annette was sick so they subbed for a night. Alissa from the agonist and Elise from the band I posted. It was pretty funny they were holding lyric sheets lol.
Alissa with nightwish.
Within a week Annette was gone. She wasn't pleased they subbed but I'm sure that isnt the whole reason.
Time I from Wintersun has been released in Europe (November for N.America).
I've only listened to the first track so far and my god is it epic. Can't wait to actually purchase this record (I've only purchased 2 cd's in the past 6+ years).
I'll try and upload some songs on youtube.
Edit 1: My god is this album solid. I've now listened to two songs. What a masterpiece.
Edit 2: I uploaded the first song to get glimpse of the brilliance.
So I've listened to the album 6 times already and I live it. It inly has like 3 songs (and two intro songs), but what a masterpiece. Can't wait for Time II now.

the new Witchcraft album is great. their debut Firewood sounded like it came straight from the 70's, and while neat it never really made an impact. they seem to really be finding their own identity in Deconstruction through, i'll be listening to this quite a lot i think
I never listened to the bad, but I heard the news over the weekend that Suicide Silence lead singer, Mitch Lucker died last Thursday in a motorcycle accident that took place on Halloween night.
Always sad to hear of tragic passings.
Quote:
The 28-year-old vocalist lost control of his black 2013 Harley-Davidson in Huntington Beach at 8:55 p.m. on Halloween night and slammed into a light pole, police said in a news release. Lucker was reportedly ejected, while the motorcycle continued south and hit a Nissan Titan pickup truck, police said. No other people were injured in the crash.
The last album that Metallica ruled the world, including the song "One", before they sold out as a radio band. I can say though that the "black album" concert in the Saddledome was a thing of beauty, they played their radio tunes right off the bat then they announced that the wussy radio fans could leave before they broke into "Blackened" and never let up for the next hour and a half. Best show I ever saw might just have been Metallica in the Max Bell in 1986, it's tied with Roger Waters a few years ago in the Saddledome. Enjoy.

It's worth listening to the fan remaster that goes by "...And Justice for Jason" to hear what it sounds like with the actual bass not decimated. They ripped the original bass tracks from the Guitar Hero game and recompiled the song with them louder in the mix.

So I don't know if there are any other Wintersun fans here besides me, but I want to buy a shirt from their site and they charge 30 euro for shipping so it's like $55+ with shipping; however the fee is standard so I can buy 8 shirts and shipping is still 30 Euro, which would be easier to swallow because it could be split with a purchase.
I write this because I want to make an order for 2 shirts and am curious to see if anyone else wants to get in with me. If not then I'm not ordering because I can't justify $80 for two shirts (that's including shipping).
If I'm able to find a couple people (5 shirts total), it would be $28/shirt. These are the 15 euro shirts, the others are 20 ($7 more?). 8 shirts would be like $25/shirt.
Just thought I would post this and see if there are any takers.
Also, Wintersun is playing Republik on Thursday so I might try and go to the show.
Never knew there was a Metal thread here!
Okay if anyone is interested here are my top 5 bands as of today.
1. Parway Drive, Just released their newest "Atlas"
2. Dark Tranquillity
3. Insomnium
4. Raised Fist (Technically not Metal but hard-core)
5. Cradle of Filth (just recently released a new album too)
I used to listen to Parkway Drive quite a bit, along with similar acts like As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, etc. (still awaiting Killswitch's new album). The breakdown near the end of "Boneyards" is a pure vasectomy for the ear.
Devin played an acoustic set at a pub on 17th Ave SW this afternoon. Costello's Sports Lounge I believe. I am so pissed I couldn't make it. Now my FB feed is full of pics with friends and Heavy Devy. Grrr.
