I would be shocked if the AAV is lower than 7.0m.
Especially with Aho's contract around 8.5m x 5 years.
(yes I understand its an offer sheet)

Aho is a top line center, Tkachuk is not. It's not a direct comparable by any means.

Doesn't matter...it is his next contract, and most certainly will be a comparable for MT.
IF, Tkachuk signs a 5 year deal, it will be 8M or so i'm guessing. If he goes 6 years, it will be similar to Aho's deal.

8 x 1.9 seems so unlikely to.me. You can't be serious. If I had to.make a realistic guess I think Tkachuk’s contract ends up.being something like this:
3.2 x 5.3
Multiple Limited No-Trade Clause x 2
At the Stampede Parade Tkachuk can ride Brian Burke for 550 metres or until Brian Burke collapses, whichever happens first.
One NHL Monopoly boardgame. 2nd hand but still in good shape.

Sure, however both are top line players.
Its a contract that will be used by the agents...

6.75 x 5, 9.5 x 1, 10 x 1, 10 x 1....move some money around into signing bonuses and lockout protection and call it a day.
Works out to 63.25 to deal (7.91 AAV). I think it's a bit more than the Flames want to pay and a bit less than Tkachucks camp wants to have...(which tells me it's right in the middle). You can get into the painful detail of less for RFA years and percentage of projected cap or player value to the team (and BT/Agent have to do that)....but at the end of the day I would be surprised if we dont land within 500k of this (shorter deal likely closer to the 6.75 for the first 5 years).

If Playoffs count , and they really do, Timo Meier would universally ranked ahead of Tkachuk.
4x6 should be the absolute top end.
A UFA (absolutely no rules built into cost control) Evander Kane got 7x7
The absolute top limit for Tkachuk (Brad Marchand) has just completed year 2 of his UFA contract 6.125 x 8. He was a UFA when he signed that.

If you want a laugh and see even worse logic than ricardodw go check out the Marner for Tkachuk proposal on HF.

Stop ignoring the fact that the RFA contract landscape has changed, and Marchand signed his deal 3 years ago.

It's honestly like you dont understand any aspect of the game other than numbers, and even then, that understanding is questionable at best.

That’s it, stop the negotiations. What kind of horse riding shoes are these?

I could see 5 x 8.45, same as Aho. Otherwise it would be too easy for a team to throw an offer sheet. 1st, 2nd and 3rd as compensation for Tkachuk isn't bad at all.

Didn’t Gaudreau wear Yeezys in the parade and then sign his contract with the flames?
That’s how I’m choosing to remember it. It’s a sign.

Well if this is true, it will have a great big effect on Tkachuks negotiations.(rumored to be 12.5 per)
As should those shoes...i think we need to get MT to the Alberta Boot Company...stat!!

Brad Marchand had just come off a 61 point season, career high, when he signed that contract.
You really have no idea what you're talking about, transplant assessment was polite.
