I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm getting pretty tired of all these spoiled, entitled guys on the ATP tour constantly playing the victim.

Man, that would be fantastic, but I have a feeling we'll revisit this tomorrow and it will be...

Yeah, it certainly is. The outbursts on successive days by Zverev yesterday and Oikos today are mainly fueled by the realization that the days for them contending for grand slams are fleeting. Zverev has all the tools, but he gets way too passive in the big moments of matches and just waits for his opponent to make a mistake. The problem is guys like Alcaraz and Sinner and Djokovic (still) will punish any short or weak ball and will take the match from you unless you decide not to give them that chance. Stef suffers with the same tight moments in big matches, but also has that shaky backhand wing which opponents will punish knowing it will break down.

So, for both Zverev and Stef, the easiest thing to do is blame others rather than trying to fix their respective games.

Oh ye of little faith these whiny ATP guys could learn a thing or two about persevering regardless of perceived officiating bias

I was privileged enough to watch Rafa in person 3 times. This might be an insensitive analogy right now, but he was a hurricane on a tennis court, often big enough to engulf even his goat rivals. I don’t think anyone else gave that same feeling of “yeah not only is the other guy gonna lose, he’s gonna suffer the whole time through as well”.

There will never be another Rafa Nadal. Vamos!

Never his biggest fan, but glad I got to see him in the flesh at Rod Laver. What a career, what a player.

If you had to pick one player and a court to play for your life, it would be Rafa on Philippe-Chatrier. Just a phenomenal player who had an illustrious career, it's always dangerous to say a record will never be broken, but 14 French Open titles might just stand the test of time.

I have known this day was close for about 2 years now, and even though the last 2 years haven't been great on the court for him, I still managed to watch most of his matches knowing this could be the last time I see him.

Back in 2017 I was having a rough go of things, my Grandma passed away the day before Nadal lost to Federer in the AO final and a couple months later my Dad passed away really unexpectedly. I went into a deep depression, and aside from family, part of what brought me back was Nadal's 2017 season. 2015 and 2016 were not great seasons for Nadal and I kinda given up hope on him ever winning a grand slam again. Then 2017 he turned the clock back and won 2 slams that year and would end up winning a further 8 (5 french, 2 US and 1 AO).

Out of all his Grand Slam wins, his 2022 AO title will go down as my favorite. He had to face a gauntlet of tough young players and was down 2 sets to 0 in the final looking exhausted and he found a way to win. Never complained, never smashed a racket just kept thinking of ways to win.

When he won his last Grand Slam he was up in the slam race 22-20-20....he would never play a healthy grand slam again.

I took this potato quality picture at the 2006 US Open, using an early digital camera through binoculars. If I could go back and tell myself about the career this pirate cosplay kid would go on to have, I wouldn't have believed it.
