Felix closes out the tie with Argentina defeating Baez 6-3 6-3. The doubles will still be played as every set and game won could be important when it comes to deciding who advances to the finals in November in Malaga.

By the way, Finland doesn't have Ruusuvuori this week in Manchester so their squad is certainly the weakest on paper. You don't want to look too far ahead, but if we can pencil in a win for Canada over Finland, the tie versus GBR will likely decide who wins the group.

This is the time of the year where Felix typically picks up his game.

Argentina wins the doubles (it did go three sets after Canada won the opening set 6-2). Canada still in good shape though and get to rest tomorrow before they take on Finland on Thursday. The Finns will take on the Brits on Wednesday.

The Brits have won the tie over Finland (doubles being played at the moment to determine if it will end 3-0 or 2-1 for GBR). If Canada beats Finland and GBR beats Argentina, the Canada - GBR tie on Sunday will be rather anti-climatic as it will just be for seeding for the finals in November.

This is super interesting, never would have guessed that Bianca vs Serena Williams final would be the highest rated US Open final (men or women's) in the last 10 years .Bonkers that Raducanu vs Fernandez had more viewers than Djokovic vs Medvedev when Djokovic was going for the grand slam.

I wonder how much changing the start time this year impacted the tv ratings for the men's final. Name recognition is important as well, if you have Alcaraz or Djokovic in the men's final, surely those numbers are higher.

Yeah, the fact that Jannik and Charlie split the grand slams 2-2 this season means there's still a lot on the line this season. Shanghai Masters, Paris Masters and the ATP Finals, it's going to be a fun end to the season.

Shapo just won the opening round match versus Finland 7-6 6-2 to put Canada up 1-0. Felix vs. Otto Virtanen is coming up shortly.

Felix secures the tie for Canada as he rolls over Virtanen 6-2 6-3. Doubles still to be played, but Canada will end the day at the top of Group D while Finland is essentially eliminated.

They've reunited Shauger for the doubles vs. Finland.
Edit: Clean sweep for Canada today and no sets dropped as Shapo / Felix win the doubles 6-2 7-5

Looks like he's calling it a career, which is fair enough. I wonder if he even bothers with the exhibition in Saudi or calls it quits.
For sure next year he's not playing Laver Cup, the captain for team Europe is Yannick Noah and I'm pretty sure Nadal would never play for him after how he treated Nadal.
