Give people license to judge and denounce others, and this is what happens. People are upset that first-time violators are only getting warnings. They don’t just want to see the behavior stop - they want to see the transgressors punished. It’s an ugly aspect of human nature.

This really is the most on point post in this thread.

Other than watering my plants and grass, I haven't really changed much of my life.

I've lived in a country before where you had to truck water into tanks every 5 days to have water at home and only had electricity for 2 hours a day.

People have no idea how spoiled we are. Reducing water by 20% and people acting like the government is trying to control us and this is somehow political.

We take things for granted. This is a total non issue if people just use rain water for their outside usage or don't use outdoor water at all.

We have a few buckets, you hold it up and catch all of it as it warms.

By the time the bucket is 1/2 to 2/3 full the water is warm enough to jump in.

Pretty easy actually.

We have also been saving the water from cooking veggies.

I find it interesting that Wall-E stands as this cautionary tale about what humans might turn into, but few seem to float the idea that we're already there. Floaty chairs aside, many seem to devolve into madness as soon as they hit the first speed bump... and what the hell is life if not a never-ending stretch of speed bumps?

I just shower in my neighbour's sprinkler. Sure, they yell at me to get off their lawn but what are they going to do about it?

They're the ones breaching the outdoor watering restrictions!

The biggest impact on me has been not washing my vehicles, as I ####ing love a clean vehicle and the pollen/bugs were driving me nuts. Thankfully I drove a few hours in the rain and it cleared most of it up, so I’m good for a while.

If you’re a gardener, this is a wake up call. Get a rain barrel or something. You shouldn’t be relying entirely on tap water.

If this is affecting your day to day life otherwise… well… you were probably wasting a ####load of water. So, you trash.

Yeah we had tossed around the idea of a rain barrel, but don't use a lot of water for gardening as it is all pot/planter based.

That being said it is dumb to not get one, so I'm gonna sort my #### out.

Yeah. Whats the point in just letting natural water just go down the drain?

Not sure if this was talked about before, but I have heard that some washes recycle their water? I am not sure how that would even work because you'd have to filter it etc, but that's how some are justifying washing their cars.

Semi related, last year (?) you gave me grief about complaining about how ####ty some lawns look in my area. I think you called my lawn a "vanity project". I guess like you love a clean car, I like a nice yard. Let's call it even.

From turning off the tap while you brush your teeth to punching a wolf in the face, just a series of speed bumps.

This 'Major. Water Main' character sounds like an unreliable jerkface.

Fair enough. I have the numbers ready for whenever you feel like being embarrassed about making that comparison. Just let me know.
