Hanifin and Andersson got shook in game 1, and they were fragile as eggs mentally by Game 4, and gave up 4 2 on 1s in the second period of game 4, Oilers scoring on 3 of them.

If a healthy Tanev was an option for Sutter from Game 1, that doesn't happen to #4 and #55 and maybe/probably Markstrom is more settled early in that series too. Bottom line Flames simply don't lose one or two of games 2,3,4, and then Game 5 doesn't turn into the screwjob on the Coleman goal.

They went the entire series without a PP goal and rolled with 4 D. You aren't going to win a lot of series doing that.

Tonight they had a great effort in my opinion, and lost by 1 goal.

Just saw a highlight now where Benn was getting after the oilers (not sure what game ) and cross-eye Bouche hiding behind ref throwing jabs and poking benn with his stick. What a cross-eyed little b****. Imagine if Benn got ahold of him- oilers fans would see what turtling really looks like.

The only positive is that hopefully this idea that you can build a championship team without elite talent, which in the NHL one gets by tanking, is hopefully dead and buried. The Hawks tanked and won 3 cups, the Pens tanked and won 3 Cups, the Avs tanked and won a Cup, the Lightning tanked and won two Cups, the Kings tanked and won 2 Cups. Now two teams that tanked are meeting in the Cup finals. This idea that there is a different way to build a championship team is hopefully dead and buried.

Flames would have easily made the the cup finals this year if they made it to the dance. Such a weak pool of teams.

He was great the whole playoffs outside of like 2 games this series. that's a lot of Hockey for a goalie. And the Oilers PP is on a different planet.
