Even though they're the bottom seed, they get a home game because they're the host university for the Springfield Regional. The rules are if the host university qualifies, they automatically get to play at home.

tickets for the Maryland Heights regionals on the 29th are going $700-5000 on Stubhub. Too bad they put this in a 3000 seat arena instead of Enterprise Center. I will have to wait until next year when the Frozen Four will be in St Louis at Enterprise.

Today's game will be available at noon MT on TSN+.
Unfortunately, Bell has recently made that an additional subscription on top of a regular TSN subscription, so it's no longer included for free. If you have access to TSN+, you can watch the game.

UMass and Suniev play Denver today in the regional semis
Tough task taking on a top rank Pioneers team. Denver may be without a top player, Massimo Rizzo is reportedly out
So 5 mins into the 2nd.....Suniev has not stepped on the ice.
EDIT: Denver just scored, so Umass down a goal, and they send out Suniev next shift. And out there again after TV timeout.
Coolest observation.....He switches from heavy in the corner style to cycling up high and drifting in and out of soft areas ready to one T.
More EDIT: This Zeev Buium (blueliner for Denver) who's ranked top 10 this upcoming draft, is pretty shifty, skates so well, but loves the toe drag a little too much.

Suniev had an early neutral zone turnover, and it seemed like he was benched for ~15-20 minutes. Since then, once he got back on the ice seems every time Suniev is on the ice he is battling, winning 50/50 pucks, and goes to hard areas, to generate chances. Regardless of the outcome, this might be the best game I have seen from him this season.
going to double OT

Denver wins in double overtime. Fantastic game! So many great performances all around. Both goalies, the Buium brothers, Carter King, Lucas Mercuri etc

Not sure I can handle that kind of stress again. I tried to keep my eye on Suniev. He does skate well but he couldn’t get much open ice or show his skill. Very tough on young guys to compete in those types of games. It’s why NCAA really is the best training ground for young guys. Tougher than CHL but not as tough as the AHL.
On to Saturday. Let’s go Pio’s!
