I think the NDP, Liberals, Alberta Party, and Greens should merge into one party, the Progressive Party (or something to that effect). Having a hodgepodge of parties to the left of the UCP just splits the anti-UCP vote and makes it easier for them to cruise to election victory after election victory.

I mean, that's essentially the situation we're in right now already. NDP has gobbled up all of the voters from the left and centrist parties. Vote splitting isn't really a factor as none of the Alberta Party, Liberals, or Greens got enough votes to do anything.

Checked the numbers, those three parties on the centre-left combined got only 30,000 votes or 1.7%.
On the other hand, right parties also got ~1.7% of the votes between Buffalo, Wild Rose, Alberta Independence, Artur Pawlowski's wacko party, etc.

Even if the NDP were to bring the Liberals (lol, Artur Pawlowski got more votes than them..), Alberta Party, and Greens into the fold, you'd probably just see new left wing parties pop up that want to take a harder left wing and more ideologically pure stance than the NDP's centre left position.

I'm just disappointed about how little most Albertans research (or really, care about) the political climate right in their backyard. The UCP is far, far from the PCs of yesterday, yet so many still think it's the same. The loyalty to political colour in this province is so deep it's almost embarrassing.

After 15 minutes of proper research, it would probably blow many Albertan's minds to know that the ANDP is closer to the revered brand of Lougheed's PC's than the UCP actually are. Although I'm sure denial and deflection of that would be the immediate response.

Read a reddit post about it (I put as much trust in Reddit as the Sun), but to break it down,

- Swim Ontario allows adults to compete in the same division as youth, so yes a 50 year old can compete in the same swim meet with teens
- It is illegal to discriminate and not allow a trans person to use the bathroom of their identity.
- The facility told the parents involved that there was a family change room with private stalls if they had any concerns, but asking the trans person to use it would be considered discriminating.

Facility dealt with it all, police never showed up.
