My bank updated their website to a new more 'user friendly' version.
It sucks.
I hate it.
The forms I want, shockingly, are tax forms. That option is labeled as 'coming soon'. They say i have the option to go back and use the old version but thats not true. Its only if i am on a laptop or desktop. I am not using either of those. I dont want your stupid app on my tablet.

They're there to regulate temperature in the building. They let out less hot air so they save energy. What did people think they were for?

You're surprised that more people care about easily walking in and out of a building - in the manner by which they walk through every other door on the planet - versus shuffling along in a little mini-circle to save energy in a building they don't give a single fk about?
This is the worst gear grinder in the history of the three threads.

I never said I was surprised. I don't care that it costs the building owner money but I do think wasting energy for the tiniest possible convenience sucks.
I knew it wouldn't be a popular opinion because this kind of self-importance is the norm in our society.

I’ll go ahead and say it, never once have I thought about why a revolving door exists.
And now that I know, it still won’t factor into my decision making.

I almost agree. The guy who posted about watching Flames games later, on demand and coming to this site before or while watching the game and whose gear grinder was the FoI section containing spoilers, takes some beating.

The only place I recall seeing automatic revolving doors is Vegas and most of the time some idiot tries to push the door to speed it up and breaks it.

They have huge ones at the Tom Baker. They're big enough to accomodate a cancer patient in a rolling bed. That still might be too much for you to handle.

My favourite are the big ones in airports where you can just sit and watch as people try to struggle through them with them with bags, kids, strollers, carts...
Good times.

My building has exceedingly heavy doors, but also has a double door system. I just use the regular door because its quicker, especially if there is a struggler using the revolving ones. Does the double door system make it better for conservation?
What GMG is that my wife will methodically wash our garbage for 100% recycling obedience but has no qualms leaving the back door open for 10 minutes while farting around in the garage when its -25 out, cooling the whole house 6 degrees.

Some may laugh, but my hourly house patrols to shut off all the unused lights, confirmation of proper window closure and blind positioning, and precision thermostat tweaking is saving like $4/month and the damn environment. You're welcome, Gaia.
