What really grinds my gears is having three perfectly good snow shovels, with the only flaw on all of them having the metal wear strip being completely worn down to the point where you can’t use it on a driveway or sidewalk anymore. Why don’t they make replaceable wear strips on $45 snow shovels?
I swear this is a plot by Big Shovel.

I have the best shovel, which they don't make anymore, so I'm on the hunt. Mine was like a snow sleigh/shovel hybrid, so you could push large amounts of snow, but also lift it. Any recommendations?
Oh, this one:
https://www.amazon.ca/True-Temper-Sn.../dp/B002IKM6NO
Can't find it in Canada though. And it does have have flaw, the corners tend to break. Would like something like this, but better!

Yeah but you know what the problem is. People are animals in public bathrooms. It’s so disgusting what some people do there and the condition they leave them in. Someone has to clean that up!
It’s appalling, and I just think these people can’t actually live like that in their own homes, right?! I can totally understand why places don’t want to let people use them though.

Musicians ghosting me when I'm trying to hire someone for a gig or a recording. I'm trying to find a cellist for a private gig and apparently they are in short supply. I met one this summer and we've discussed this gig off and on for months and she's in, but as we get closer it's been complete radio silence, like for the last month.
With three weeks left I've started reaching out to others and it's like, yeah totally interested let me check my calendar, then crickets.
Or yeah, totally interested and available, what's your budget? I throw out a range but am clear that I don't know the going rate, what's your normal rate? Crickets.
If you don't want to to do it, just be professional and say so. If you're too busy to respond properly, just say so.
I've had the same trying to find singers for a recording. What are you paying...crickets. I took a friend into the studio to do some recording with the stated purpose of trying some things and getting feedback from her. Did the mixes, sent for feedback, multiple follow-ups to her....crickets. Finally heard back, too busy to listen properly right now. OK, I know she's legitimately busy, but maybe could have said so sometime in the month that I was asking.
I've always found musicians to be a special breed, but is this just the way people (don't) communicate these days?

Depending on where you live you could reach out to your local university. If it has a music department there may be an opportunity for students to play for you?

Ya, I bought 2 for $20 each a few years ago when I saw them being cleared out. My last one is dying.

Why don’t they just make the metal blade replaceable instead of riveting it on?

I can understand the apprehension, but really whether you were a paying customer or walked in, you’d probably treat the bathroom the same, maybe worse if you have that mentality that because you spent some cash you can treat the place like you want.
I also think maybe some of the problems with the the grossness is it just compounds from a little pee on the seat to looking like a pit toilet turned inside-out, because people are germaphobes and use 5 layers of those tissue seat covers that don’t flush and crap starts overflowing.

A small bit of acting helps when it comes to accessing washrooms. Like amplifying the level of urgency upon which you need to relieve yourself.
Also yes, some people are absolute monsters in public washrooms. The worst of it is 75 percent of it could be excusable if they just cleaned up after themselves.
I find it really difficult understanding how some humans just simply do not have a zero trace filter on using public spaces. I take the backcountry camping motto and apply it to public spaces. Use it, but make it look like you were never there after you were done with it. I don't think it's that difficult of a standard to live up to.

I should have done the same. Those really are the best shovels. The metal edge on mine came off the other day about 4 years of solid use. If I ever see them for sale again, I'm going to buy one for sure.

Didn't buy 5 like I would have wanted, but at $81 + shipping I couldn't justify it. Just kept it at one this time.
I found them for sale here:

If they didn't have the tendency to break I'd be tempted, but the price is a bit rich for me. Maybe my sidewalks are worse, but I only ever got 2 seasons out of them. The really are the best design for moving large amounts of snow of any type though.

One time I was about to #### my pants downtown and just walked into a restaurant like I owned the place. Straight to the bathroom and then straight out. Nobody said anything.

Kind of wish Lee Valley had snow shovels. I bet they'd be great.

tough string of experiences but I'm sure not every single musician on earth is this way . also there's a phenomenon with people where we have a proven tendency to assume that when somebody does something displeasing from our vantage point that it's an internal reason while we tend to discount the strong possibility of external reasons that could be playing into it on their end . musicians aren't a breed with a shared personality disorder lol . it's probably a busy life thing, or a priority thing .. probably the same reasons for why people on kijiji and Facebook marketplace up and disappear in the middle of negotiating a sale . if they have options available to them sometimes you get dropped or put on the back burner

Considering they're an Ottawa-based company and sell shovels for other purposes, it's actually kind of surprising that they don't.

I wonder if the stainless steel construction like their other shovels would make a snow clearing shovel too heavy
