At the beginning of the year I would have said if Kylington plays 70 games and put's up 20 points that would be a massive win.

Seems like he realized the urgency of his situation and needing to do something with it. He appears to have taken the opportunity and isn't going to give it up. Something that happened with Mark Giordano back in the 08-09 season.

Haha, you don't say.

I'd say that's... an understatement.

Yeah lol what? If Kylington even scores 50 points this year I'll be dancing in the streets. I don't think anybody in the entire world thought 70 points was a possibility for Kylington at the start of the year.

Considering he's put 10 up already I'll take 40 on the season as a realistic target if he stays healthy.

At the beginning of the year, Kylington playing every night would’ve been the win.

0.71 PPG with 0 power play time is while rolling with Tanev is a horse of a different colour.

So what you're saying is he could put up 100 with PP time?

Nice!

Have a look at the list of NHL Dman scoring leaders - Kylington is number 17 - then look at their minutes per game. Pretty amazing. He's tied with Nurse for points and plays nearly 10 minutes a game less.

So by Oiler logic Kylington is better than Nurse since he has same points with way less time played…… why aren’t the Flames pumping him for the Norris then…. Haha

In all seriousness Kylington is a nice surprise and albeit early glad he is finding some success.

Flames really need to give him a shot at Andersons PP spot for a game or 2.

Andersson still has a better shot IMO.
It kind of works for the powerplay.

But Kylington deserves PP time as well.

I wonder when we will see a contract for him and how long Brad will sign him for. Very interesting negotiation at this point.

How he's not been put on either of the PP units by now is questionable at best.
This guy should at LEAST be quarterbacking the 2nd unit.

Tis a shame.

Good for Oliver. Always knew there was something there the day he notched his first goal vs Nashville in sick fashion. He has skill you simply can't teach. I think at this point, it would be a good idea to substitute Kylington on to PP2 to see if he can make that unit more dynamic. Hanifin just isn't adding much to that group. Hopefully with Kylington's arrival, this will mark the summer that Hanifin finally gets traded as an inevitable cap crunch casualty.

I've seen better players traded to cap crunches.

A lot depends on Valimaki taking a big step forward this year though.

Andersson should stay on the first pp but Hanifin should be taken off the pp for kylington. Only thing I don’t like about it is sutter can comeback with tanev and Kylington after a pp. Teams quite often load up a line against you after a pp so it’s nice to have your best pairing rested for that

Maybe put kylington on the pp after we resign him?

Well someone has to go. It's inevitable. Anyone who has seen the Flames cap situation next summer will understand this. $52 million with Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane and now Kylington to sign + extra bodies.

Plus, Kylington excels at keeping the puck in the offensive zone.
