Smith did cause that whole sequence with down poor pick play though. I don't think the shot is the problem, but he has to make better decisions.

average goalies also make a difficult save once in a while. smith hasn't won against a playoff team since december ffs. absolutely no excuse for pissing away points with him yet again

Smith is a good puck-handler, and it's one of his few positive attributes, which makes it even harder to digest his play when he does it poorly. That goal was instigated by an awful play he made with his stick. That's unacceptable.

As long as the team is winning, Smith isn't a concern. Team stats outweigh individual stats. But right now, the Flames are losing because of him.

When a player is at a level much below the rest of the team, it's a concern. Especially when that player is a goalie.
