I didn't like the 3rd pairing in the last couple of games. They were turning over the puck and getting burned more than we had seen previously. Hopefully a game watching will help Kylington get back on track.

#Flames likely to go with a different look on their second powerplay unit tonight. More of an old-school setup with two D up top. Austin Czarnik said it's going to be a "shooter's powerplay."

PP2:
Czarnik - Neal - Jankowski

Brodie - Andersson

3M reunited against Colorado's top line. Andersson and Janko added to PP2. I like it.

As for Kylington, I have no problem with letting him watch from the press box every now and then as his d-coverage is still a work in progress. Also a good thing to dust off Prout and keep him engaged.

5-2 Flames. GFG!

Glad to see the second power play unit mixed up.

This could just be me however, I wish whoever writes these summaries at Calgaryflames.com would find better language, such as the proper nouns, to describe the teams instead of this US/THEM heading. It feels amateur.

Better to put Prout in at home, where hopefully they can shelter him a bit from their top line. Kylington could use a night watching from the press box. No biggie.

The sophomore puck-stopper now returns home to the 'Dome, where he has not suffered a regulation loss all year (6-0-3). Overall, Rittich is 15-4-3, along with a .921 save percentage and a 2.40 goals-against average. … This is the first of a five-game homestand for the Flames, who will face the Avalanche, Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings over the next 10 days.
This is pretty freakin impressive stuff.

Very potent, fast COL team. Will be a tough challenge. CGY will have to be ready to play hard and skate from the beginning. Let’s see if they can avoid the “first game back from road trip” sluggishness. They just need to play their game (bottle that CHI third period).

Excited to see PP2 and especially how they gain the zone. Would like to see them carry it in.

Any reason why it's at 7:30 and not 7pm tonight?

Well there's two guys that like to shoot and a third that can shoot well when he thinks of it.

Well, it's not because this is a National game. How does this happen? There are three games on a Wednesday night, two featuring Canadian teams, and NEITHER ONE is on the National Network.

I decided to pull the trigger on some cheapish tickets for tonights game. My first game of the season! After years of having seasons tickets, it's feels weird planning an evening back a the 'dome. Like seeing an old ex girlfriend for a drink or something after a couple of years apart.

Flames playing at home against a Colorado team in a big slump in the 2nd game of a back-to-back, everything points to a Calgary win. These types of games always make me uncomfortable, far too easy for the Flames to not be engaged early and let the Avs top line catch them by surprise. I really hope Peters has them ready and I'm worried for nothing

I think there's some merit to having a 3-2 setup as well for PP2. Gives the PKers more to think about playing against a totally different setup.

I really dislike watching prout he directly gives up at least one 2-1 a game because of a bad pinch or just not reading the play/ tracking puck well

I bet Prout gets maybe 5 minutes, with Gio possibly double shifting to play with Andersson from time to time.

Kylington was 31% in scoring chance slits and 18% in high danger splits in the last three games of the road trip.

A look see from above might be smart.

Great to see those changes to PP2, hopefully they are more effective then what's been put out so far, which has been really bad.

Andersson has earned a look from his late game efforts this year!
