Where does Gaudreau rank among all time Flames forwards?
Iginla is first, but where does he rank among Fleury, Nieuwendy, Gilmour, and Nilsson?
I will be the first to say it, I think he is better than Fleury.

He’s not even better than Iginla yet. Certainly not better than Theo. One day hopefully.

He's right up there with Fleury for most talented all time IMO. The Magic Man was maybe one of the single greatest offensive hockey talents in the world but he was almost as lazy as he was good and didn't have the compete level.

How about Roberts, Loob, Mullen?
I think we need to give Gaudreau more time to see where he slots, but he sure is looking good right now.

That points list is actually helpful though, as guys like Pepper and Otto are pretty much on there due to longevity and not much more. And Gaudreau is clearly more skilled than Roberts and Reichel (though one could argue Gary's skills were just of a totally different kind).
I think the answer to this depends on what you're ranking. Skill? Leadership? Who you'd pick if you could only have one (but at their best, or based on their whole body of work)?
I've said before and will say again that Gaudreau is, for me, the most entertaining player the Flames have had since Fleury. I can't speak to players who came along much before that though - Loob was my first Flames favourite but I never saw Nilsson play.
Anyways, Johnny's damned good - not too many come along that are worth the price of admission on their own. I'd happily agree that he's one of the best already, and hopefully in contention for the crown by the time his contract ends.

He's 9th in ppg.
1. Kent Nilsson 1.32
2. Mike Bullard 1.15
3. Joe Mullen* 1.12
4. Doug Gilmour* 1.11
5. Joe Nieuwendyk* 1.07
6. Theoren Fleury 1.05
7. Guy Chouinard 1.03
8. Al MacInnis* 1.02
9. Johnny Gaudreau 0.99
10. Sergei Makarov* 0.98
So that's probably a good estimate?

Of my life watching the Flames him & Iggy are the best followed by Huselius and Tanguay (I'm only 24 and started watching hockey when I was 7, Iggy's Art-Ross winning season) but all-time I think he's he's still behind Iggy, Theo & Nieuwendyk.
Jarome had 13 straight 20+ goal seasons, 11 straight 30+ goal seasons, 2 40 goal seasons and 2 50 goal seasons with us. And he did that playing a good chunk of his career in the dead puck era. Theo had 2 100 point seasons and averaged over a PPG during his time with the Flames. Joe had back to back 50+ goal seasons to begin his career and also averaged over a PPG in his time with the Flames.
What Johnny is doing is amazing and he very well may reach a career PPG average (After tonight he has 352 Pts in 356 GP) but he still has a bit of a way to go to match or pass these guys IMO.

I was discussing a similar topic the other day. Three players have been the undisputed face of the franchise during their careers.
Lanny, Fleury and Iginla. Ridiculously, only one has their number in the rafters but hopefully Iginla's situation will be rectified soon. But all three deserve to be there.
Who could be the next face of the franchise? Gaudreau is the logical possibility, with apologies to Giordano.
For many fans, especially younger ones, he already is. What could hold him back? He's not the captain like those guys were. And the other three had their western Canadian ties, which I do believe was a factor.
But with Gaudreau's unique style, flash and skill, a long playoff run might be put him there.

For Johnny to be as good as Fleury you would have to find some kind of machine that can mold two players in to one and throw Tkachuk in there with him.

To be more accurate you need to adjust it base on the goals per game scored during each season. The 80's were a lot more high scoring then nowadays. Then you really need to consider the line-mates each player had... Iginla of course got to play with lesser line-mates than most on this list.
