Quick Saddledome Seating Question
I’m looking at getting tickets for Stars on Ice for my mom for Christmas, but I’m a little unsure about sight lines in the seats I’m looking at, never having sat in that section before.
Can anyone tell me if Section 226, Row 3 has unobstructed sight lines at an event like this? It’s directly behind the 2 row cutout for cameras, so I’m unsure of the quality.
Thanks a lot!

That's a pretty cool tool. Unfortunately, it doesn't show the cameras. That's my main worry. I'd hate for some giant covered cameras to block them the whole time.

It depends on whether or not the cameras will be used for the show. If not, the camera spots will just be empty and there will be a clear view.
If the cameras are used, they might be a bit distracting.
Looking at the available tickets, I'd get her something in row 1 of the second level. Those are the absolute best seats in the building (there's a reason they're the most-expensive tickets for a Flames game). There's a block of 4 tickets in row 1 of 225, or an even bigger block in row 1 of 213. Those are guaranteed to be completely unobstructed. They're not right at centre ice, but that shouldn't make a big difference.

Thanks a lot. I think you're right. Not worth the gamble of cameras ruining the whole thing.

At figure skating events and shows like SOI, the cameras are at ice level.

If you haven't bought the tickets already I would suggest getting your mum tickets in the lower bowl. This isn't hockey so your goal isn't to be able to see the entire ice at once.
For skating events closer is better, you want to see the athletes up close, you want to feel the wind as they go by and the spray of the ice. Often I sit in the corners because that's where the jumps happen.

I am going to disagree with Craig. Any chance you have to get row 1 tickets in the 200s, grab them. I have sat there a few times, and the view is so much better than anything in the lower bowl.
