Carter Hart called up as well!

Could be really good news or really bad.

Club has released the news. Their AHL coach is now the interim coach.

So Quenneville to be announced early 2019 as full time coach?

Just to underscore how the Flyers are scrambling, their AHL team is roughly 1h30min drive from the Wells Fargo Center. Yet their interim coach didn't make it to today's practice in time? Must have been told like in the past hour or so.

If I'm Quenneville i tell them that if you want me to coach for you, it will start after this season and after seeing what changes happen and only person i report to is Fletcher. Plus a long break from the game to re-set can only be beneficial on multiple fronts.

Holmgren should be an arms length+ away from hockey personnel decisions and if he isn't, I'm not taking that job.

Sam Donnellon @samdonnellon
per @andystrickland , the holdup on this Hakstol-Quenneville situation may be that Q is skiing in Colorado #Flyers

Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull
I’m told Q does not want to even think about returning to coaching until after the holidays.”

Yeah gotta think he wanted to get in after the holidays if the rumors are true. The leak forced the early firing IMO

I'm seriously wondering why he would consider that organization based on the upheaval.

Money talks I assume.

Just...ugh.

Say what you will about Ed Snyder but this is on another level of incompetence and clownish. It's what happens when guys without the right background start making front line decisions for an organization.

Is Philly going to pay a substantial amount more than $6M? Because that's what it will take.

This tire fire just shows the critical importance of securing the right goaltender. With even a mediocre netminder, the Flyer's are a playoff team and nobody would have lost their job.

Still, I'm really looking forward to the Oilers eventually replacing Chiapet with Holmgren.

Called it...
the way this thing has been handled, it might give Coach Q hesitation to sign any contract...

The Flyers are showing the Panthers how you really fire a coach.

Fletcher says it is his expectation that Gordon will be the coach for the rest of the season.

He also says he hasn't asked Chicago for permission to talk to Quenneville.

edit: hehe he referred to the Calgary game a couple of times. Sounds like that was the critical point. Flames are coach killers

Wow things really are messed up in that organization if the loss to the Flames was a turning point. You would think Haksol would have been judged much more harshly after a franchise low point a few days later losing to the Oilers.

Hmm...I dont know, I still think the Panthers/Gallant fiasco is still King.

Between the Gallant fiasco and the Oilers firing Krueger over Skype this is a close third.

Although seeing Gritty running practice drills would definitely qualify for some extra credit.
