Three games out of the last four he's let in two goals. That's something to build on. If his GAA can get under 3 and SP over .900 it's a positive.

Not convinced of this goaltending duo but less pessimistic if Smith can continue this level of play.

Funny enough his save % was below .900 tonight. 2 on 19.

He made some good third period saves. Looks much better of late.

He's letting in bad goals to early in games, that stuff won't fly in the playoffs

Tonight's first goal against was 8 seconds away from literally being the middle of the game.

Normally he lets them in early, tonight he let one in on the 6th. all I'm saying is that I don't think he's the goaltender that's gonna get us through even a first round

When the islanders tied it up it was 2 goals on 8 shots

Still lots of room to improve

You don't seem to get how these stats work.

If he'd been scored on on his first shot and the Flames went on to win 10-1 with 25 shots against, would you complain that when the other team scored he'd let in one of one?

Smith still manages to put up a sub .900 performance with .895 in the game.

But I'll take allowing two or less goals against in two straight as the positive here.

A single game save percentage doesn't reveal a lot either. Especially in a low shot game.

Look let's get real

Goaltending is an issue for this team, let's not pick out hypothetical scenarios

Tonight he let in 1 bad goal and on the second he didnt even move. They tied it in the 3rd period with only getting 8 shots on net. If he continues to have a .900 save percentage in the playoffs it will be curtains for us

Lol, Smith really can’t catch a break with many of you.

Wins three in a row, “Save % too low”

What about his season one then?

Anyways he is improving these last few games and it will hopefully give him confidence and keep the wins coming.

Looks like for now he is back to being number 1

His season save percentage tells a big story and it's not a good one. His save percentage for tonight's game says very little. That's my whole point.

But he didn’t move!!!!!
Never mind the horrible defence or the fact it would have been a save if the year....he didn’t move!

Second goal definitely wasn't his fault. The first goal was 50% on Brodie, and 50% on Smith for losing track of the puck and knocking it into his own net. It was a very Mike Smith type weak goal imo.

Credit where credit is due, guy has looked at least like an NHL back up. I still think Flames are a quick 1st round exit with Smith in net for the playoffs though.

Decries hypothetical situations, makes up a hypothetical situation to worry about.

His first goal wasn't bad. No worse than Rittich let in last start. His second he can't be blamed on at all. And on,y 8 shots? Lots of goalies will tell you that's a tough situation when suddenly a great chance is given up.

He let in only two at the end of the day. On the Flames that wins most games. If he has a .900 save percentage on 12 shots in the POs I like their chances.

Don't understand why there is a need to be so miserable. Just enjoy the game, enjoy the team, this is supposed to be fun. So just sit back and enjoy the ride.
