I'll take the field against Tampa, if anyone wants that bet. ($100?)

If Tampa doesn't march to the finals, who in the east is a candidate to beat these guys?
The only one I see posing a real threat is Washington. Anybody else that pulls it off would be quite a shock tbh.
I don't buy into Toronto in the playoffs, not one bit.

If Boston adds a couple pieces they have a shot. Bergeron would be buried against Kucherov's line, but if Boston had a 2nd line that could score they would be able to hold their own IMO.

I think Boston will be sneaky good in the playoffs this year. I would bet they could do it.

You are crazy. No one ever has a 50% chance of winning 4 series in a row.
You are saying they basically have a .85% chance of winning each round.

Well the bookies are placing TB about about +300 to win. So not 50%, but crazy odds.
Only team I ever seen be 50% vs field is Golden State

Its a very different league these days...for one thing there is a salary cap and a third more teams
Also, its a dumb bet...you can bet $100 on Tampa Vs. the Field and win $100 should they win
or go to any casino or betting site (Tampa +2.50) and make $250 should they win

I agree you could do better on bet $ return, salary cap or not this Tampa team is as dominating as any season of those Dynasty teams.

Tampa’s odds to win the Cup are 26%.
Why on earth would you take that bet?

Somehow they were able to run the table year after year with your same odds.

Boston is a good candidate. They've just been unbelievably quiet this season. Highly experienced playoff team though which is why they're typically a darkhorse. Their top guys can hit another gear when it matters.

If TB winds up playing PITT in Round 1 it could be all over right there. Crosby/Malkin for 50 minutes a game combined with a hot Murray may be enough, especially if they add something for the 3rd line.

Those were pre-salary cap times.
