That's extremely sad news. Only 40 years old and leaves behind a wife and 2 kids. Doc was my idol growing up watching the Blue Jays. The late 90s to early 2000s were pretty tough times for the Blue Jays, but every 5th game you knew they had a great chance of winning. Awesome athlete and by all accounts, awesome person. RIP.

FFS. This one hits hard.

My all time favorite baseball player. Incredible role model and human being.

Greatest Blue Jay pitcher of all time. Not that any of that matters at the moment, but this is a ton to digest

This is truly awful. My favorite player alongside Delgado.

Gone too early.

Gutted. What a baseball player and I'm now fully appreciating who he was as a man. What a loss.

This is really sad. I think for most people, we remember them as what they did for their professional life, but Halladay was a person you remember as being a really good human being. Terribly sad that this happened.

So very sad because he was so very young. Just starting to enjoy his family after a brilliant career.

RIP Doc.

Sad to see that Pillar still doesn't have a gold glove but Buxton was clearly better this year. I am happy for Stroman winning it though!

I hope he actually wears a gold glove next year. That would be hilarious and I could see Stroman being the type of person that would do it.
