I would like it better than Rome.

Anything is better than Rome. But Mohr deserves a bit more credit than just that.

I found it rather funny that Rome had fill in hosts on Monday, they were pumping Mohr's tires on his show debut.

Glad someone started this thread because I’ve been wondering what’s going on. So Rome is no longer on the FAN 960 and the 10:00 to 1:00 spot is going to be filled by Jay Mohr and his new show?

^^^ Rome moved to CBS Radio but will still be on FAN960 from 10:00-1:00.

Jay Mohr is taking over Rome's old slot on the Premier Radio network, which the FAN will no longer carry

Unless we start a Jihad . . .

Jay is much funnier. He doesn't condescend to his callers.

Was listening to Mohr a bit last week and he was encouraging people to call in – saying “let’s have a conversation, I’m not going to tell you that you suck, I’m not going to run you, let’s just talk”.

I thought it was refreshing from the Rome approach.

I don't know. I kind of like when Rome runs some of the idiots. That being said, I think Rome has got a little too full of himself and forgot that the stupid calls, smack, blocks, etc. were what a lot of people liked about his show.

The thing is if you've been listening to Rome since say 2000 or so, you understand and encourage Rome to not take any calls and to have a short leash on those who do. The quality of callers really collapsed badly the second half of the decade. Rome is definitely a little too smug, but the callers are so awful its probably for the best he doesn't take many calls.

Hopefully they have a question like that on the next FAN poll.

We might be in the minority here, but I always liked tuning in better when Mohr was subbing in for Rome

Anyone been listening to Rome the last couple days? Haven't had the chance and curious if anything is different now that he is with CBS?

I tuned into Mohr Sports for about an hour today and really enjoyed it. I will be definitely giving it more listens in the future.

Same as always. Good guests. Good interviews. Same annoying macho schtick. Rome does not seem genuine to me - there is no way he talks like that in real life. Jay on the other hand, wears his heart on his sleeve.

The only thing that worries me about the mohr show is the over use of gimmicky sound effects, i know rome had his share what with the deca yeah on fridays and that stuff. But those were all drops, from what i've heard Jay has like little segment lead ins and they sound pretty goofy reminds me of this actually.

I listened to him guest host fro Rome last week and he spent most the time making bowl game jokes. That was played out 10 years ago. His impressions are good, but i'm not sure he can pull this off full time.
