Default The Schmo is back!!! Joe Schmo: Full Bounty

I can't wait. Joe Schmo the first season is still by far the best reality tv show ever!! I sure hope Shaw will add Spike TV to their HD line up by early 2013!

The new version, "Joe Schmo: The Full Bounty" will feature one real guy who thinks he's in a competition to become a bounty hunter and win $100,000. All of the show's other "reality" stars, however, are actors. Our real-guy hero -- "The Joe" -- will even compete with the semi-famous Lorenzo Lamas, who will be playing himself. As for the rest of the actors, they're fake versions of our favorite/least favorite reality types. Look for everything from the airhead model to the self-absorbed jerk. Ralph Garman will return as the host.

All of the cast, including "Joe" of course, will have to take part in some rather odd challenges. Going along with the bounty hunter theme, "Joe" and his fake colleagues will practice interrogation strategies and try to disarm bombs. You would think such unusual (and potentially deadly) competitions would give away the trick. Apparently not.

"Hands on a High Price Hooker" is the best challenge on a reality tv series ever.

Holy crap! Dr. Pat was Kirsten Wiig? haha.

I was pretty young when it was on so i don't remember a whole lot, and I probably didn't get some of the jokes. I just remember my brothers and I watched it and laughed our arses off.

Jonathan Torrens rocking the "Gotta-be-gay-guy" was gold.

The first season of the show will never be topped in reality tv because of Matt. They couldn't find a better guy for the show.

Gould's sensitivity came to the forefront in a later episode featuring a sumo wrestling contest. Gould knocked down Kristen Wiig, playing "Dr. Pat", causing a real-life head injury that forced her to be taken to the hospital. Gould eventually won the contest but was disturbed by the incident. The next day, when Wiig returned to the show, still in character, Gould gave her the all-expense-paid spa vacation he had won earlier.

When he recognized the porn star it was one of the funniest things ever . . .

Joe Schmo getting worked over by the "virgin" blonde bombshell and the other hot contestant in the hot tub almost gave an old man a heart attack.

The first Joe Schmo will be impossible to duplicate.

Love to know whatever happened to him.

Not a lot on his wiki page, except a couple of updates:

In August 2008, Entertainment Weekly interviewed Gould about his experiences on the show. Gould said that the show made him feel "dumb" and that he "wouldn't do the show at all" if he was given the choice whether or not to do it again.[1]
Post-Joe Schmo Show

Appearances

Gould recorded commentary on the show for a later rebroadcast of the series. In 2004, Gould taped an unaired cameo appearance for Joe Schmo 2 as a pizza delivery man, and appeared as a referee on 10 Things Every Guy Should Experience.
Personal life

As of 2008, Gould was married with two children and worked for a logistics compan

From his personal point of view, I can see why he wouldn't do it again and that he felt humilatied . . . . . . in fact, the actors eventually mutinied because they felt sorry for him, which only adds to the legend of that first out-of-control show.

For the rest of us, it was Festivus.

In the history of reality TV, that first Joe Schmo will live on as a legend.

I just rewatched it again with my DVD set. I don't think I've watched season two more than once. I've been listening to Garman on HBO, I was stoked when he announced it.

Kind of like "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance" which was a set up from the start. It was pretty funny.

What a great career reboot opportunity for Lorenzo Lamas.

I look forward to him filling the action hero role during the summer of 2014.

Meanwhile look for Vin Diesel and Jason Statham in future version of Joe Schmo.

I posted this on Digital Home but I want to add Spike TV for a couple of months (for just the one show) and the Shaw rep says $10/month, Sports 2 pkg. Since when is Spike TV under a sports pkg? And when is a-la-carte channels coming?

Do they really want me to obtain it by alternative means? And the alternative would probably be in HD too

I believe that Spike will have full episodes on their website (they do with other shows, and they aren't blocked in Canada). That's how I'm planning on watching.

They have the first 10 minutes of the first episode online now as a preview.

Wow Lorenzo's got some stamina!

Wiki

"Lamas married his fourth wife, Playmate of the Month Shauna Sand, in 1996. Lamas and Sand have three daughters: Alexandra Lynne (b. 1997), Victoria (b. 1999), and Isabella Lorenza (b. 2001). Lamas and Sand divorced in 2002.

After just five months of dating, Lamas got married for the fifth time to Shawna Craig (25) — who is younger than his eldest daughter — in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on April 30, 2011. His daughter, Shayne (27), attended the wedding.[5][6] He has told reporters that he will go publicly as Lorenzo Lamas-Craig. His manager, Don Gibble tells E! News, "He's always thinking outside the box so he decided to become the first celebrity to take his wife's last name." The other reason was because his last wife, former Playboy Playmate Shauna Sand, kept the Lamas name and is legally Shauna Lamas. "His new wife didn't want to be called Shawna Lamas for obvious reasons," explains Gibble"

Just watched the first 2 episodes, not disappointed at all.

Lorenzo Lamas, Garman and his wife are excellent.

Don't want to say much else and spoil it.
