Toews skating around in the offensive zone, no surprise he scored the winning goal in overtime.

The BJs have a 3-2 lead midway through the third period.

Boone Jenner (BJ) scores for the BJs, 4-2 Columbus.

Great coach and the team is actually giving the young guys a chance to play for once.

Also remember when the Sabres went on their flukey 10 game winning streak and led the division briefly? That was cute.

Yep. Hutton stopped playing way above his head and they fell back to earth.

Next up will be Lehner/Greiss and the NYI. They're due for a regression.

The difference is that the Islanders also have an awesome coach who has lots of experience. Trotz knows how to keep his goalies motivated. The Habs and Isles coaches have Stanley Cup rings. Housley has lots to learn.

That is amazing when you consider that the schedule is at the 2/3 mark of the season. There are 10 teams (6th to 15th place) currently in a battle for the last 3 western playoff spots. It is going to be a wild and crazy finish.

The eastern conf. is whacked out in a different way, 2nd place to 10th place is separated by 10 points.

Lots of 3 point games, there were 7 of them!

The Hurricanes-Sabres game had 6 goals scored in the 3rd period, 3 for each team. Skinner tied the game with 56 seconds left in reg time and that gave the Sabres a valuable point as Carolina won it in OT. Teravainen scored the GWG. The win puts Carolina in 9th place just 3 points back of the Penguins and BJs for the last 2 playoff spots. The Sabres are 10th, one point back of the Hurricanes.

It was a duel between Binnington and Vasilevskiy as both goalies combined for 70 saves. The Blues won 1-0 in overtime over the Lightning. Schenn with the GWG and Binnington gets the 32 save SHUTOUT.

Another duel of goalies had Greiss for the Islanders and Schneider for the Devils who played for the first time in nearly 2 months. The Islanders won 2-1 in the SO. The goals came in the 1st period and great PK by both teams.

Ducks went 0-4-0, outscored 23 to 5. Ouch.

The old leadership group, save Gallagher, is all gone. It's a Claude Julien team now. I'm as surprised as anyone. They've got 2 and a half defensemen that are any good. But Weber plays a ton, so guys like Benn aren't on the ice as much. Drouin has upped his game, Domi is better than I thought he'd be. Kotkaniemi is rounding out as well, scoring in each of the last 4 games.

8-1-1 in their last 10. Hope they can keep it going.

He entirely deserves serious Jack Adams consideration.

NO one thought Montreal would be doing this well or even securely in a playoff spot.

Outstanding work by Julien.
