The puck has to start going in for Neal. That was a super slick pass from Janko in the 3rd. I take a small amount of comfort that he's getting some grade A chances, but it's time to see some goals.

Smith is great with his stick but simply takes too many high risk chances passing the puck.

Mike Smith gives up too many easy goals. I wish he could get back to last years start and mid season form, but it's just not happening. I've been holding out and hoping, but I think the ship has sailed.

If anything, he's given Rittich some puck handling skills and confidence, but it hurts to see the goals he gives up, which shouldn't have been goals. Especially after momentum gainers like the Backlund goal last night.

I wish Bill Peters would quit saying that "Smitty was good" after every game he plays.

It's called supporting his players.

On the telecast Cassie Campbell was saying his favourite Easton sticks have been discontinued this year, adding to the problem or even perhaps creating it. His Bauer sticks haven’t been right all season in experimentation, but a new batch has arrived and he’s pretty pumped about it.
I think James Neal needs to go shopping in a store with lots of sticks, and failing that get a stick psychologist.
