Icon59 RIP Ben Stelter

For as awful as the series was to watch as a Flames fan, seeing this kid get to have so much fun and receive so much support during the Oilers run was a true bright spot. Hockey community is at its best when trying to take care and give joy to kids who just love hockey.

RIP Ben.

RIP Ben.

As a father of 2 young boys this a tough read, even though you knew sadly it was coming I cant imagine what that family is going through.

So sad, so little time on earth.

Players are gutted and the tributes on social media already have poured in. RIP Ben. Had the pleasure of saying hi to him. Great person.

As a father of 2 young boys, I can’t even imagine what the feeling is like. Heart goes out to them.

Props to all the other fan bases and players (Calgary in particular) for the support during the playoffs.

RIP Ben. I'm glad he got to see one more Oiler's series win, even if it was at the expense of our Flames.

The lone good thing that came of the Oilers winning the latest BOA was that Ben was able to witness and enjoy the moment. RIP little fella.

Terrible and so sad.

So many bigger things in life than sports, and honestly as a Flames fan I'll happily take that series loss to the Oilers just because of the joy you know it brought Ben in what ended up being some of his final days.

Just heart breaking.

RIP Ben, you were an absolute warrior. Heartbreaking news. No one deserves this disease let alone a child.

This is so tragic. I'm happy the Oilers won so Ben could see it. No parent should ever have to see their child pass before them. I'm absolutely crushed thinking about the poor kid and what he went through at such a young age. I really had hoped he was going to make it.

It’s extra hard to see a kid having to go through the pain and suffering of this awful disease. Im glad he and his family got to create some memories this past spring.

RIP little man.
