I mean there are definitely a whole bunch of people in hockey operations throughout North America that don't know what they're doing. That much is a certainty. But I also wouldn't listen to me about evaluating Lawson Crouse since as I literally just said, I haven't been paying much attention to him for several years. I'll take Jfresh's word for it.

I think it is absolutely a very fair point to say that Crouse was heavily overrated during his junior career, and I think he was poorly evaluated by a lot of NHL and external scouts, as CHL alluded to.

But ... while he's certainly no peak Dustin Brown ... he's comfortably a middle-six NHL forward being paid far market value, considering his proximity to UFA. There aren't many players like him out there.
