Don't think that was the LOL part of the quote.
Tkachuk suggesting Gaudreau is less than excited is the funny part.

It's not even about being old enough, it literally changed over night a few years ago, it was so weird. It was used very frequently as the player who blew it in a game, series or season. It was even used outside of sports.
"The goalie was the goat today, let in two softies".
And then randomly one day I just started hearing people refer to basketball players and then other athletes as the GOAT.

I never understand why a player who blew it in a game, series or season is called a goat, it's an honest question. May be someone can explain to me. But GOAT I do. Greatest of All Time.

If some one was the cause for a bad game/play/year they were the "Scape Goat" or Goat for short.

First time I ever saw reference to G.O.A.T. was on a C-Train ad for LL Cool J's new album. Wikipedia tells me that was released in 2000.
Not sure when it caught on in sports circles, at least in current usage (I think the phrase "Greatest of all time" dates back to Muhummad Ali).

I think it all started on those ESPN talk shows about Lebron and then morphed into Brady

Whoa what? The Goat acronym has been around much longer than the last dance.
Like, since LeBron called himself the Goat when he said it in Miami. (SIDENOTE: Look, I like LeBron fine, but the fact he has to say he is something before anyone else annoints him, means he is not what he thinks he is. 6-0, nuff said)

Lebron didn’t call himself the GOAT in Miami. He said he felt like he was the GOAT after that 3-1 comeback against the Warriors in the 2016 finals

It doesn’t come across that way at all if you listen to the interview.
He’s talking about how much of a legend Gaudreau is and how excited guys are to be on his team.

"Florida man trades Huberdeau, Weegar, Schwindt & `25 1st for Tkachuk (8 yrs x $9.5 mil) + `25 4th"
... is how this thread title should read.

Thanks for posting that podcast. Other items i will read too much into probably...
- "I'll keep that too myself" on any conversation with Sutter; Sutter never spoke to him after he left i assume and he sounds kind of butt hurt or never liked him. Or both.
- Says "Talked to all the guys" but then says Backlund was one of the guys he talked to. He seems like a loner that hangs with his dad.
- What I thought was cool was his grandpa from Winnipeg coming to a lot of games in Calgary.

Yeah I agree with this as I just listened to it too. Didn't see it as Tkachuk saying Gaudreau isn't excited (he said that Johnny is really excited and happy) but just mentioned that the guys he talked to are even more excited about Johnny arriving. From his comments, Johnny is happy in Columbus.
Tkachuk clearly loves the Florida lifestyle, mentioning seeing the ocean when he was at the hotel and how much he enjoyed the ocean smell, the beach, etc. Made me wonder why Brady didn't force a move too, but they are different people and maybe Brady doesn't necessarily care about that I guess. Brady also isn't nearly as desired on the market compared to Matthew so that may have something to do with it too.
Agree with those that Tkachuk's comments about Sutter were dodgy.
I liked hearing that Tkachuk talked to Backlund throughout the situation and talked about how underrated a player he is and how he wouldn't be the player he is if it weren't for Backlund and Lindy.

Not sure. Although my dad was a branch manager at a Royal Bank in Winnipeg and said his clients included Brett Hull's mom and some Keith Tkatchuk relative.

Basically
Tkachuk and Monahan
For
Huberdeau, Kadri, Weegar and Schwind
Not bad considering the situation Treliving was in
We don’t know until we see how the team performs but at this point Treliving for a win.
