I’m fairly confident that he’s gonna sign with NYI. They waited until Sept 1, 2021 to announce all their signings last year. Palmieri waited until then too. NYI had $11M of cap space available for Kadri+their RFAs.

I think Tre has learned his lesson from UFA signings like James Neal, Troy Brouwer, and Mason Raymond not to pick up those types of UFAs who look good on paper but declined immediately.
The remaining offerings aside from Kadri appear to be of the same ilk.
I think our best bet is to trade Valimaki or make some other moves with the excess D and some other assets to get us a good player.

He can't be blamed too hard for signing those three. The team needed players in those positions and he had them signed. The real lesson to be learned there was to not give those players long-term contracts, which, of course, is contrary to players' objective of signing those long-term contracts...

Frankie definitely could hang with Nicky, Vinny, and Tony.

I'm kinda thinking this too. I also think Josh Bailey might be playing for a new team soon, and the more I think of it, he might just be a nice consolation prize to whatever team gets him.

Islanders boards are saying Kadri is all but a done deal and they just need to agree to terms with Dobson for that deal to be announced. Stastny and Kessel still don't have deals. I anticipate they will sign with playoff teams.
Some other names who haven't signed yet who weren't on the original list are guys like Milano and Rodrigues.

If no other suitors exist, couldn’t NYI slash their offer by 25% and say take it or leave it bud.

I'd take Kadri if we could get him for like 5 years and about $6 mill per, but that won't get it done I don't think after reading the other threads.
I would give Kessel a shot for a 1 year deal, show us you can still produce and keep up with the systems Sutter wants to play.
