Draft Notes:
1. I guess Grant wins the draft after all
2. Grant bang on with Nemec
3. Philly bang on with Cooley
4. Simmer does really well with Korchinski
5. Kasper ‘the friendly ghost’ proves MJK right and goes top 10.
6. Mintyukov goes top 10…stupid Grant.
7. Canucks do well with the Geek pick.
8. Cheese bang on with McGroarty
9. Kemmel Drops…a lot
10. Pickering goes 21 and Cheese takes him 31 in CPHL…Cheese having a great draft so far
11. Yurov drops +12.
12. Sam Rinzel is a 1st round pick. Avs did well!
13. Phillip Mesar is a stud…Goes to Sharks in Meier trade will be flipped to Goffie for a LOT!
14. Simmer does really well with Bystedt
15. Lamoureux…I believe in you! Also goes to Sharks in Meier trade (suck it Cheese).
16. LA does well with Schaefer

IMO it does. CPHL draft is fun it the measuring stick is the pros at the NHL. Buuuut CPHL GMs always do well picking.
I think he valued Slaf as a 1st in the deal with you…almost have to in a draft like this. Maybe I’m wrong but I would!

I figured slaf would go first but that’s still good added value for simmer
Win win

Ya IMO you still win the draft because you were able to use him as a 1st overall value to make that trade and Simmer gets back a 1st overall value back. Win win.

My God did Kemmel tell every GM to F off in interviews or something?

He measured shorter at the combine that what he was reported
But I would have drafted him over Gauthier if he had been there
So there’s always luck in this too

For all the talk of this draft being all over the map, the players picked so far have been relatively predictable...ish, albeit in a slightly different order.

Agreed not many ‘off the board’ picks (yet).

Sharks deployed a smart strategy of trading with the wild in between the cphl and nhl drafts

It’s funny because I actually picked those two guys hoping it would work out in the draft because nothing to lose really.

I will now trade Howard because of the outfit he's wearing.

I’d love to trade for this slick Howard kid because of the outfit he’s wearing. What a stud and Star Wars music to boot.

I was pretty confident that Mesar would go late first
The big oaf I was less sure of. Those in the draft chat know I didn’t want to take him but in the third it was just too good of value.
Still I think it’s a terrible first round pick for an nhl club
Like awful

It’s a great pick! Lamoureux is a 1st round NHL prospect. A stud.

Changed my mind, heard his interview and it sounded like something I would say and I am not a good hockey player. So he must suck at hockey but would make a great CPHL GM.

I took Adam Sykora at 53, he went to the Rangers at 63. Not bad. Big fan of the player.
Signed Dmitri Buchelnikov as an overager — born just a week before the cutoff. Went to Detroit at 52.

25. Jagger Firkus - Taken #33 -8
34. Gleb Trikozov - Taken #60 -26
43. Calle Odelius - Taken #65 -22
47. Mattias Havelid - Taken #45 +2
64. Tomas Hamara - Taken #87 -23
67. Bryce McConnell-Barker - Taken #97 -30
71. Nick Moldenhauer - Taken #95 -24
91. Aleksanteri Kaskimaki - Taken #73 +18
99. Alexander Pelevin - Taken #205 -106
102. Topi Ronni - Taken #59 +43
107. Arseni Koromyslov - Taken #120 -13
108. Quinn Finley - Taken #78 +30
127. Nikita Grebyonkin - Taken #135 -8
Biggest riser was Topi Ronni. I think it might also be the first time I have ever drafted a Flames pick. Took some Russians because I had no clue if there was going to be a Russian factor this draft. Happy Firkus went to Seattle - I think its a great fit for him.
