I don't see much information in that article except that there is a whatsapp conversation about getting a bunch of the liv players to play the same few Asian events. Seems most of the quotes are guys resigned to the fact they won't be playing majors for long. They just all need to admit that they took the money to leave relevant golf.

There are more guys in that article suggesting their career playing majors is over than there is anyone talking about playing in Asia.

You really believe LIV golfers are going to be playing a number of Asian tour events? Casey said he heard someone talking about the idea of a number of LIV golfers attending the same event to boost the strength of field points. You realize why that won’t work right?

You need to play a number of events to talk about qualification points for majors. This is not what they signed up for.

The OWGR guidelines indicate a standard format of 72 holes, with 54 holes acceptable “for those tournaments earnings fewer than 12 minimum first-place points.” In other words, a steady diet of 54-hole events is typically for developmental tours or offseason series, such as the Vodacom Origins of Golf in South Africa.




Guidelines also state that tournaments must average a 75-man field over the course of the season. This could be a problem for a circuit that promotes 48-man fields. LIV Golf has invested $300 million into the Asian Tour and has four “International Series” tournaments this year. It could claim those fields as part of its league and reach the minimum.

Perhaps the biggest hurdle is a requirement that a new tour comply with the guidelines for at least one year before it gets admitted. LIV Golf has altered or delayed plans for a full schedule and set teams, and providing stability could be key in gaining approval.

That was pretty gutsy for Brooke. She four putted for double on the front, totally lost her lead and then really gutted it out. Congratulations!!

The LPGA Majors have gotten a massive boost in purse in the last 1-2 years, especially the Women's US Open and PGA Championship. The rest of the schedule is still low compared to regular PGA events.

Bubba Watson, the two-time Masters champion who at one point was ranked as high as No. 2 in the world, reportedly is set to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series, the breakaway tour that continues to add well-known names to its roster.

Watson, 43, has been sidelined since late May due to a torn meniscus, disclosing the injury after contending early at the PGA Championship before finishing tied for 30th.

According to United Kingdom-based The Telegraph, which first reported on Watson's PGA Tour exit, the well-known left-hander and shot-shaper is poised to make his LIV debut in the event outside Boston over Labor Day weekend.
