Help needed with my math.

With our captain out, exactly how many Giordano’s will be playing tonight?

That's what I am thinking as well. The Oilers are going to be gooning it up all night, yet somehow they will get 6 PPs to our 3.

There's no reason the Oilers should lose tonight. With that being said it's going to be absolutely glorious when the Oilers lose tonight.

I'm worried about the Oil abusing Prout on D with the McDavid line. He is a pylon.

Three maybe?

Larsson, Russell and C. Wideman (hahaha!) were not part of the original “seven Giordanos,” but I also don’t think Benning was in the Oilers system yet.

Going to be tough tonight, but if they can pull it off, it is going to be glorious!

Flames are going to need another big game from 13/23/28 and Rittich is going to have to be a wall, but I have some confidence that it can all line up for us with how the boys have been playing lately. GFG!!
Those 45 minute flights are BRUTAL!

I'm just poking fun. The rest is absolutely true and even though it's the no-good smelly Oilers, it's a big test tonight.

And I can't wait!

But on the flip side, I am excited to see Kylington in a foot race with McDud. That kid can fly.

Yup. This is their Cup finals game 7, and you know they've had this game circled on their calendars since the last one. No doubt they're gonna be amped up and trying to hit everything that moves. Also, the Flames have played a lot of hockey lately, and they might be a little worn out playing a back-to-back tonight.

That being said, the Oilers are a one-man team, and the Flames have more than enough firepower up front to counter that, so I'm not all that worried. After the way they performed last night even while missing two of their top players, I'm confident the Flames can beat anyone at this point, injuries and suspensions be damned.

As I mentioned in the Peluso thread, I think the Oilers will be so distracted trying to goon it up, they're gonna abandon Hitch's trap-style game plan, take a bunch of dumb penalties, and give up lots of odd-man rushes.

Long story short: we've got this.

They are playing the best team in the West. Is that not reason enough? They have been scraping wins against mediocre competition. Only those delusional fans think they are on the brink of some kind of breakout.

To hear HF Oilers fans talk, this will be an easy win with Edmonton coasting to a dominating victory. It will begin their march up the Standings to overtake the Flames in short order.

Yes of course. Except that they are already losing 1 hour, playing in 23 hours. Plus they travel, which is more like 2 hours in total, so instead of a normal back 2 back, they are looking at losing 3 hours of sleep.

Not making excuses, it just is what it is. And in and of itself, I wouldn't care in the slightest. Problem is that we are icing a lot of replacement players. And for replacement guys, stepping up once is one thing, but keeping it going a 2nd night is something else altogether.

So all things considered, we have a pretty even tilt tonight.

- 3rd game in 4 nights
- Puck drop is 20 hours since leaving the ice last game
- Prob didn't get to sleep till around 2AM last night
- Top dman to put on McDavid is out
- Top shutdown centre to put on McDavid is out
- Oilers last change
- Oilers are rested

Has nothing to do with the Oilers being good, has everything to do with the Flames being fatigued and missing key players for matchups on the road.

With the Flames' ability to flip a switch and score at will, I'm betting the Oilers are much more worried about shutting down our offence than we are about shutting down McDavid.
