Recorded game. Just watched. Damn, that was a fun one. Tough loss but we played well.

It doesn't really matter. The flames controlled the play, and perhaps didn't generate as many high danger chances.

The biggest thing we saw tonight, the issue that has been the downfall all season, was the strong defensive play. The flames played a tight checking game.

They play like the did tonight for the next 50 games and they head to the playoffs with home ice.

My biggest question mark all season has been whether this team can defend and if the coach can manage the bench and play the matchup game to his advantage.

Tonight proved both can be achieved. Now let's see it again tomorrow, the game after that, and so on.

Bennett had a hell of a great game. A couple lazy reaches but he was everywhere and making his presence felt

That's probably why the scoring chances were the way they were

I don't feel like the Flames were able to get to many rebounds and the tips they did have were less dangerous than the ones the leafs had
Except that the Flames have heat maps at the points, AND their heat map in front of the net is darker and bigger than the Leafs (EV All Situations).

Also still wouldn’t explain how you have the Corsi advantage, shots advantage, and high danger advantage but then get way less scoring chances. Especially since high danger should technicall be a sub segment and correlated to scoring chances.

I feel like they may have just messed up that one field tonight. Would make more sense - both visually and from alignment with the other stats - if that was reversed.

Look they have the Leafs with 30 scoring chances in the game...if you think that is accurate you are just trying to be contrary. Its an obvious mistake.

There is just no ####ing was they had 30 chances unless you are counting dump ins ect.

Anyway it doesn't matter...any hockey person on earth would tell you who stole that game. Mike Babcock is seemingly the god of all coaches on CP and he called a spage a spade.

One point, move on....hope for the next one

Oilers down 3-1

Actually they're 4-0-1 when they get stomped on like that.

If the Leafs had 30 scoring chances then the Flames had 90.

Maybe this deserves it's own thread here but this is at the top of r/hockey. Looks like Tkachuk could be in some trouble with the league again if they see this.

What point is that? Game 28 while they're still very much in it? This team is far from done. That was a great game.

I chalk this game up to really good effort by the Flames but a lot of wasted chances, that goes the same for OT. The Flames should have had the W many times in OT.
Shoot out is a roll if the dice so it's pointless for anyone to criticize especially when it goes to extra shooters.

And they had it ready for the intermission. You just know as soon as it happened the crew dropped everything and fired up the software.
