I’m a Flames fan until I die. I would be lying if I said this is the ending I hoped for or expected. I’m sad. I’m angry. But I still love this team.
For the first time in my life I was able to watch my favourite sports team of all time finish 1st in the Western Conference. This season had so many positives I don’t even know where to begin. For the first time since 2004 it meant a lot to wear the Flaming C!
I can’t wait for next season! The ending to this season sucked. There’s no denying that. But there’s no reason not to be excited for next season. We have a great young core and I’m excited to see where they go from here! I think this I only the beginning! Hopefully Gio wins his well deserved Norris this year!
Finally I wanted to say thank you to CP. I had a lot of fun on here this year. I didn’t always agree with everyone but I love the passion this fan base has! I’m looking forward to the off-season debates!
Flames fan until I die! Go Flames go!!!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a team to cheer on for the last 2 minutes of our season! Go Flames go!!!

Calgary Flames fan forever and always no matter what. Even though we watched a brutal playoff performance, we have some better times coming. There are great pieces on this team.
Cheers. It was a fun ride, at least in the regular season. Felt like a team that would never die.
Well, they died, and now it's time for the custody hearings and messy will settlements. All we can hope for is that next year finally is the one where they get over the hump. Hopefully that's a fun ride, too.

I've been a Flames fan my entire life, and I'll always cheer for these guys no matter what. Onto next season. Here's hoping Treliving will address some of these glaring weaknesses so the team can get back to work and then hopefully get over that playoff hump.
I feel like we're close, but these guys need to get mentally tougher and somehow learn how to fight through it. We definitely need some more grit and tenacity, that's for sure.

Don't count on it. Gio is entering his late 30s, Monahan has proven that he completely disappears in the playoffs, and Johnny doesn't exactly have a great playoff resume either. This team's goaltending situation is also a big question mark moving forward.

That's cool. How many other threads are devoted to answering these questions? And how many of them are entitled "Thanks For a Great Year"?

Many of us get overly negative/positive and take things way to seriously. That just speaks to how much all/most of us love this team and the passion it stirs in the members of this board. I for one love this community even when we don't all see eye to eye. Cheers for another year!
i swear off the year, but find myself back here next season - probably cause it gives me something to watch when nights comes at 5pm... and hope springs eternal...
the Avs were not a good match up for Calgary... not suggesting Calgary could have beat Dallas, but i don't think they'd have looked as outclassed as they were.
Go Flames Go!
