Default 4 Killed in 'targeted' shootings in Penticton, B.C.

Just breaking across twitter and news feeds in the last hour.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...dent-1.5098815

My parents have been retired there for last 3 years and just came back to Calgary this Fall.

So sad

Seems gang-related? Definitely a problem in the Okanagan.

Gang members typically don't turn themselves in after shooting people. My guess is a crime of passion and they had close personal relationships. Terrible to hear for a little place like Penticton.

Are you trying to provide them an alibi, or are you sad they left before the killing started?

Silly.

Did you read the link? there is no "they" and "he" turned himself in so... no reason for an alibi.

Thats crazy and really sad.
If he has a problem getting along with neighbours, he's not going to like jail very much.

I think it's a "I had a trip planned to Chicago on 9/8/2001 and thought about extending it to go to NYC and always wanted to visit the World Trade Centre. I almost died."

Anyone ever watch Fear Thy Neighbour on Investigation Discovery? It's crazy what some neighbourhood disputes start over and what lengths some people go to because someone has "wronged" them.

After years of escalating conflict, including a physical assault, my parents' neighbour has a restraining order from entering the property of the neighbour on his other side.

Even if they get on my nerves at times I just leave things alone when it comes to neighbors. You just never know how some people will handle confrontation.

My last neighbour was pretty cool about confrontation. I asked him if he could wind down backyard firepit parties sometime earlier than 3am and he said yes, but that if I ever crossed him he would "get violent."

I caught some episodes of that then ID was on freebie for a time. I could only shake my head at that show. It was nuts.

My old man used to have a nut job neighbour in Kamloops that he feuded with. All started with him demanding $1000 for our share of a 40 foot fence between the properties ehen we moved in 2 years after he built it in 1989....the brand new house cost $79,000 to show how off his rocker he was with his demands. He used to try and harass the guy next to us who was in his 80's a fair bit too. Lots of threats by him and his kid that they were going to jump the fence and attack. Our other neighbour who stole like $300 in building supplies from us looked like a saint in comparison. People in BC can be a bit off when it comes to their property.

My wife watches way too much ID.
This is the first thing that crossed my mind reading this thread.
