Opinions for best freeware unzip/rar etc utility.
Any suggestions for the best freeware unzipping tool? prefer one that can do all formats, e.g. rar's etc..

- Unpacking only: RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, MSI, WIM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS
- For ZIP and GZIP formats, 7-Zip provides a compression ratio that is 2-10 % better than the ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip

7-Zip is open source software. Most of the source code is under the GNU LGPL license. The unRAR code is under a mixed license: GNU LGPL + unRAR restrictions. Check license information here: 7-Zip license.
You can use 7-Zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization. You don't need to register or pay for 7-Zip. But you can make a donation to support further development of 7-Zip.

Winrar isn't free though.
http://www.izarc.org/ is a free one, not as nice as Winrar but it is free.

True, WinRar isn't free... but it doesn't prevent or limit use after the 30 days.
WinRAR x4

7-zip is nice but not as user friendly as WinRar. I'd say WinRar except for the free thing.

WinRAR x8.
Yeah it's not "free", but the shareware version works well enough for me.

7Zip is open-source, completely free and works on just about every archiving format known to man.
WinRAR isn't free. It's buggy shareware.

Explain buggy. I have been using it since the early years with nothing wrong.

I use shareware version at home and purchased version at work, no problems with either. And the shareware version is free.
