Sounds like you would then have to have the screw portion pointed towards the floor. Do you have enough space to back out the screw if the conditioner is 2" thick and you only have 4" space?

It's not the screw. The problem with using a vise clamp here is the thickness of the lips, both upper and lower, and the shortness of the lower lip. I need 2 to 3" extended underneath of the conditioner for support.

Why not just go get some cheap aluminium and bend it into hangers. Don't need to be more than 1" wide or so and would be easy to do. Conditioner can then just slide in underneath the shelf and you don't have any clamps showing. Don't really need them clamped, these won't spread apart as long as you don't use aluminium foil. Or you can use a bit of rubber grip between the upper hanger and shelf.

That's exactly it. I was even looking for some profiled steel at the hardware store. They do have stud holding brackets in Framing, but they are very thin and made of galvanized steel, which would look like crap on a black rack. If there was a nicely finished black U-bracket, I would lined it up with some padding and it would do the job. Again, I have no idea where to get it and I've searched a lot. I can probably get it custom-made at a metal fabrication shop, but this is gonna cost way more than I'm willing to spend on this.

Looks more and more like black tie-straps is the way to go. It just really bother me that such a simple clamp is so difficult to source!

All you need is to visit a metal supply store, grab some cheap flatbar, then grab a vice and bend the metal. Add paint and voila, profit.

I have qty 1 of the clamp pictured if you want it. It came with my VIVO monitor mount but I used the grommet option and bolted it directly to my desk so I have no use for the c-clamp. Not sure I have any of the other hardware though (bolts, etc.). See pic:

If you were struggling to find what it was, it's here:
https://vivo-us.com/collections/spar...ts/pt-sd-cp01a

The buying options on that site are pretty expensive though.

Without digging very deep, the easiest way to get these would be to buy 4 (or 3 if you take mine) of the following as it's the cheapest VIVO stand that has that c-clamp (but it's still $33 per clamp).

https://www.amazon.ca/VIVO-Monitor-A...968155&sr=8-20

Other option is contact VIVO and see if they'd sell you 4 of those clamps directly?

How wide and heavy is the thing you’re trying to suspend under the shelf? Would an under shelf basket organizer work?

Black flat Bar. At 1/8” thick this might be tough to bend though

This is it. Thanks for the offer! Could you please measure the maximum opening of the clamp wide open in cm?

EDIT: Sorry, never mind. I found the measurements on Vivo web-site. $25USD x 4 + shipping. You've got to appreciate the insanity. The whole monitor stand including the clamp is selling for $33CDN on Amazon. Just the clamp is selling for $25 USD, which is $34CD. F... it. I just ordered 4 black straps on Amazon for $12. Let's see if that does the trick, first.

Thanks. This is a loaded question though. I have two pre-amps and three power amps in this system running three pairs of speakers. This Celeste is powering two pairs: JMLab Profil 77's and Bower & Wilkins Nautilus 804's.
