I really kind of like how Prime looks and works. And their original stuff like Fleabag and The Boys are very good.
But that is ridiculous.

I mean not a big deal for me to find another source from an alternate site. But Prime Video is included with Prime membership so I figured I might as well utilize it.
At least when Def Comedy Jam got removed in the middle of me watching it, I understood that it's from the early 90s so I figured I was probably the only person on the site watching it. But 30 Rock? Common, that show is still super popular. But what RGMG was no warning, or explanation. Just gone from existence one day.
A google search shows 30 Rock still available on the American version. But I literally could not find any explanation or reasoning for taking off of my account, other then a random Reddit thread where other people had the same issue as me with this and other shows. All in the midst of them watching, and no one getting any warning or reasoning.
So I did what any good streamer does and just went to my usual streaming site and was watching it within 10 seconds. This is why people torrent and feel no shame about it.

Startup, The Widow, Goliath, Jack Ryan, Tin star and Mr Robot are all pretty decent series that are certainly worth watching. The movies are unspectacular, but there are definitely a few hidden gems if you search a bit.
They way I see it, if you're using Prime delivery regularly and are getting 3-4 decent series a year out of the streaming service, it's a far better value than some of the other streaming services that just toss up 100 unwatchable options for every single show or movie that is worth watching like Netflix does.

Pro tip for those of you with older (college age) kids. Prime Student is pretty much Amazon Prime, all you need is a university/college email address. Prime is free for the first 6 months then 50% off regular subscription cost as long as the kid is in school.
This does not have to be an account for them only. We signed up for Prime and just used my daughters email address to get the discount.

Great way to make the platform seem like crap and get people who wanted to legally watch shows to go back to the tried and tested way of illegal streams.

Not trying to defend Amazon but I figured the removal of shows like 30 Rock have more to do with NBC's streaming service starting soon than Amazon just trying to piss off their subscribers.
Same as Netflix had future Dinsey content that suddenly left as Disney's launch neared.
I mean I know it seems annoying but from a business standpoint I get it. They don't want to throw out a beacon that some of their shows are leaving for another platform. They'd rather just silently remove them when the time comes.
EDIT: Saw you mentioned that the American version still has them, that's weird.

Finished Patriot today and I was really impressed. It was a lot of fun. The ending was a bit timid but I think they knew they were being cancelled so it was a bit rushed.

I watched the first episode of The Terror on Prime last night. Holy hell, that was intense and bleak and gorgeous.

Season 1 - incredible, well acted and beautifully set.
Season 2 - totally different story and extremely disappointing.

I generally give a new show two episodes before deciding between: go, no, or maybe.

Just finished Good Omens and really enjoyed it. Tightest writing in a show I've seen for a while and the casting is just too good for words.
Prime is starting to become my go to for TV lately. Most of their originals have been pretty darn good.
