Default Poll: Lets rank the Treliving/Burke 2014 draft

I'm going to give it a 10 out of 10 because frankly after getting my boy Bennett at #4 I got drunk and couldn't care less about the rest.

Was hoping for a better D prospect, but love Bennett and think our 2nds 3rd and 6th are alright.

6.5/10? Was hoping to add more picks rather than throw one away but really yesterday was the big day for the team moving forward

6/10

There was a really obvious theme after the Bennett pick that I don't agree with.

Loved the Bennett and Smith pick. Size, grit, skill is a good combination. Bennett has speed, which is something Smith has to work on.
Liked the McDonald and Mattson pick. Top ranked goalie and top 50 ranked skater had 100 picks later.
Don't mind the Hickey pick(ey). Tough to play against but lacks offensive production.
Not enough info on Carroll.
I've always liked Bollig, so I like the acquisition.

Not bad but not perfect, 7/10. We need some of these D prospects to actually be able to play, I freakin hope Kanzig is a Flame eventually. There are some glaring holes on this team and a huge gap in salary to reach, not sure where we go from here.

8/10 for picks, 2/10 for trades or THE trade.

We got Bennett and that's all I care about. I read a quote that Lou Lamoriello said it's the worst draft class he has seen in a long time. If Lou thinks it stinks then I'd be happy if one other player makes it. 6'6" Smith would be nice.

Not a fan of giving up a 3rd for a 4th line player, but at the same time I think he will fit nicely on the 4th line.

Also adding more picks would have been a waste on a crap draft class.

2nd day was horrid.

That being said, I wouldn't want to be an oilers fan right now. Their draft today was a dogs breakfast.

Like CG format above:

Bennett was a home run - 10/10

After that:

McDonald - 7/10 (and I don't like drafting G until at least 3rd rnd)
Smith - 5/10 (was hoping someone else would take him)
Hickey - 7/10 (better available)
Bollig acquisition - 0.5/10
Mattsson - 8/10
Carroll - 0/10

Overall 7/10
(b/c of Bennett and Mattsson mostly)

C

Bennett - 10/10
MacDonald - 6/10 (just because who was available)
Smith - 3/10 (not enough upside for 2nd round)
Hickey - 5/10
Bollig - 7/10 (would've been higher but would've rather had Ben Thomas)
Mattsson - 9/10
Carroll - 0/10

2nd and on - 4 or 5/10

overall - 6.5/10

Bennett - nuff said

But getting the top goalie and Hunter Smith is great. Won't pretend to know the later picks.

Like Bollig.

Getting 3 players out of a draft is a big win. Bennett is a shoe-in. Bollig will contribute immediately. If Smith or McDonald pan out, it's a huge win.

Laggesson was good and so was Draisaitl, after that

But if Bennett becomes a 1/2 centre as expected, we get 2 bottom 6 wingers. If macDonald doesn't pan out is it good?

I'll rate it a 7.5/10

Bennett is amazing.
I wish we picked a guy like McKeown rather than McDonald, but he looks to have good potential.
Really like Hunter Smith, I do think he'll be a very valuable NHL player for the Flames.
Don't know too much about Hickey but seems alright. I think TJ Brodie was his comparable? I'll take it!
Not a big fan of the Bollig trade.
Really like the Matsson pick, he could be a late gem.
Carroll is meh. Not much to say.

No point in judging by the first round. Picking Bennett is too obvious.

Didn't like how the second round went. With our current prospects at G I really would have rather seen our second pick go to a consolation RH D.

I think I like the Smith pick... If the guy can bring that size into the top 6 it will transform the team.

Third round disappointment really stems from the second pick but the frustration continues.

On to McDavid and Day!

Those numbers don't quite add up.
