It wasn't a tweet from Sean Avery, it was the story he told the New York Post:
https://nypost.com/2019/11/30/sean-a...kicked-me-too/
This tweet from Avery seems to show support for Crawford:

You have NO idea if any of these coaches went back to the players to make things right, nor is it any of our business how they handled things internally, and how teams try to work to help coaches deal with this kind of coaching style. Workplace issues happen ALL the time, and teams, companies, etc are constantly evolving to try and deal with the problems in a better way. The analogy of the strap is a very good one. If we start going back and ruining the lives of coaches, teachers, bosses, etc that in the past did stuff that isn't acceptable now, the result will be a bloody mess.
The whole 'trial by social media BS' is going to result in a massive problem real quick here.

Right. Carcillo said Crawford feels remorse. It sounds like he reached out to Patrick O'Sullivan when he book was released 4 years ago... no wait... it sounds like he didn't.
But remore is exactly the same as an apology.
He feels remorse because he knows he ass may be in a sling. He's Bertuzzi with crocodile tears because he knows what is coming to him.
It speaks volumes about the culture of hockey that Crawford has been hired what... 4 more times as a coach after the Moore/Bertuzzi incident.
But nice false equivalency with 'the strap'.
I can play the game of going to extremes as well.
Maybe we should NOT ruin the lives of people who sexually assaulted people in the past either? "It's a bloody mess".
But I digress, understanding the middle ground in consequences for using the strap 30 years ago or sexually assaulting someone 30 years ago is unique to each case and the people/organizations connected to it.
The reality is that sporting culture has always provided a place for the slippery slope of reprehensible abuse to occur.
Especially if you win!!
Don't forget Graham James name is on the Memorial Cup.
The reality is that these are conversations that need to happen and should have happened a long time ago.

Crawford's behavior has been corroborated. Much like what Burke said about Aliu. He had problems with more than one team but all of that goes out the window when his story is backed up by others.
You can think what you want about Sean Avery, but he's not wrong about Crawford.

Sopel and O'Sullivan had already discussed Crawford long before Avery chimed in, so not really sure what you're getting at. Sounds like you're just salty someone has to face consequences for his actions.

It's the nhl. The league where fighting gets you a 5 minute rest and a pat on the back. Teammates have been known to occassionally scrap in practice as well. The only issue I see here is the mention of choking a player.

Yes. Hyperbole. A very low percentage of millenials are able to afford homes, raise children, hell, even have enough for groceries some weeks. There are those of us who get a bad rap for being lazy and entitled. I do not condone those who expect everything handed to them. However, for those that hold decent jobs and are hardworking, we are finding ourselves at quite the disparity economically.
Wages have not increased at the same level as the cost of good and services around us, which have increased dramatically. That is fact. Again, sorry to derail, but I must oblige you with an answer.

Had an idea!
|
I'm certainly not suggesting that if someone starts physically hitting on players that they should be allowed to get away with it. But we are talking about OLD allegations, in an era where things are a LOT different from what they are now.
To suggest that we should go back and start digging up dirt on everyone EVER in a management position and than have their trial on social media is going to result in a bloody mess. I can't imagine the NHL is very happy with what is going on right now, considering how easy it is to throw dirt and hope it sticks.

Please.
The reason millienials are having a tough time finding work and a satisfactory income is because an overwhelming percentage of them are going to post secondary and getting degrees for which there are no jobs.
In the meantime a record number of high PAID skilled trades are going unfilled.
If we'd stop shoving the college or bust story down everyone's throat more people would have a better life with a better job and better pay. Oh, and they wouldn't be stuck with record student loans.
With the amount of well paying jobs available in both the US & Canada, anyone without a family that is unemployed has nobody to blame but themselves.
Now can we get back to the topic on hand instead of your stupid claims?

Yes pro sports coaches have more leeway to yell at players than supervisor Ron at walmart. You think coaches are never gonna yell at players again? swear? throw a stick in the stands?
