Jankowski for Andersson is a trade I’d be willing to make more than Bennett for Andersson.

Would you guys consider a bigger trade of

Bennett + Jankowski

For

Andersson + Wennberg

Forwards look something like this:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Backlund
Tkachuk - Wennberg - Lindholm
Lucic - Ryan - Andersson
Mangiapane - Dube - Frolik
Rinaldo, Reider, Czarnik

You'll need to add a cap dump to that offer. The Flames don't have the cap to take on Wennberg without more salary going the other way.

Might be an ok chance for a team like the Senators to take but he can't be worth hardly anything. A 5th rnd pick maybe?

22 points in 15 AHL games - I think the concussions have prevented him from ever being a gamebreaker, but there's clearly some skill there.

After the last lockout, I was working at the dome for a few months - the morning of opening day, Sven was doing some 1v1 work with an assistant and Backlund at centre ice. He was turning Backlund into a pretzel. At one point I believe he put Backs on the ice, he was that shifty.

It should've worked out for him. Hope the guy manages to turn it around for the back half of his career.

Sven has one year left after this one on a deal that pays him $3,366,666 per year. That's probably part of the reason he didn't get claimed.

Honestly, I could see Colorado maybe having some interest, especially if Hall goes elsewhere. They have Nichushkin playing really high in their lineup right now and he's on a great shooting percentage run but Sven is a more proven guy. Of course Sven isn't even in the same stratosphere as Hall, but Colorado seems like a team that just needs another forward capable of playing top-six or top-nine minutes.

They are going to have to either trade him for another equally bad contract or eat some salary. Absolutely amazing return when looking back at that trade now.

A 50% salary cap retained for Sven might be a good low risk flyer for a playoff team and get Vancouver a pick back.

Yes to Anderson, big no to Wennberg. 3 more years at $5M for a guy who's gotten significantly worse each of the last 3 years. Anderson though would definitely bring a dimension we're short on to the middle/bottom 6 as well as being a right shot RW. We've got very few players that aren't at least one of small, slow, or low on compete.

I feel like we've also got a surplus of small skilled wingers between Dube, Mangiapane, Czarnik on top of already having Gaudreau and Ryan, and a prospect pool with Pelletier, Petterson, Zavgorodniy, Phillips, etc. Wonder how appealing some of those pieces would be to Columbus since they're having so much trouble scoring.

That's the cap hit, he made $2.7m this year and is owed $2.4m next, he's perfect for a cheap team like Ottawa

Yeah. It was a week ago wasn’t it?

Go learn some new photoshop filters or something. You’re using the same ones you used in 2003
