Better than Koskinen, where it's simply "glove side".

But still bad news for Edmonton, since Mike Smith's glove hand is probably the strongest aspect of his entire game. If that's gone, he is pretty much entirely useless.

I always thought the strongest part of Smith’s game was flying through the air like David Lee Roth doing the splits to make a rebound save after he flung himself at a blocker side shot and wound up on his stomach 5 feet beside the net.

And 50% of the time it's to a player on his team. But, he's a battler.

If the Oilers lose to the Leafs tonight, and the Nucks beat the Sharks, the mighty Oil would be 2 - TWO! - points up on the 9th place Nucks, and the Nucks have 2 games in hand.

First place? The Oil could find themselves out of the playoff picture as early as this week!

I think we're gonna see an angry Leafs team after the Flames embarrassed them in that 3rd period the other night. Leafs have also had a day of rest, which most teams don't get when they head into Edmonton.

Combine that with the fact that the Oilers have been playing like garbage for a while now, and the doubt and frustration has obviously crept in. Oilers are toast.

Losers of 4 straight. Body language starting to change. Bounces not going their way. Goals against spiking.... They Play in Dallas and St Louis coming up. Is this finally the cliff we’ve all been waiting(predicting, hoping) for?

With the schedule toughening coinciding with this skid, it's pretty much coming together as we all had foreseen without a hitch.

They cant even experiment by spreading their skill out like the flames did since their hopes live and die with two guys that are best together. They have to pray that those two somehow find a second wind and Koskinen starts putting up .930 again just to keep from shooting down the standings before the new year.

Neal minus 1 tonight. Bring his season total to minus 15. On pace for season total of minus 36. Fits in well with the no gooders.

A poster on the other Board starts a thread identifying five "uncomfortable things that need to happen" for the Oilers to be successful. Here is number five...

No, not even McDiving can save the Edmonton Oilers.

Nothing can.

Nothing.

Edmonton is no good.

The Oilers are so No-Good they are perennially and eternally No-Good.

The No-Goodest that ever was, the No-Goodest that will ever be.
