Default Heads up for Shaw cable TV users - channel realignment today

Shaw has switched some of the channels around today. Nothing new but may be annoying if you watch some of these channels and have to re-remember where it is.

For those of you who never venture outside the 200s, you have nothing to worry about.

So my mom will be confused when she comes to my house, but I will be fine.

Check.

Does this channel change screw up any upcoming scheduled recordings? Will I have to create new recording requests or will the PVR know that this channel has been moved?

To clarify, my wife has about 10 ongoing recordings with AllTV (used to be channel 185 and is now channel 511). Will we have to create new recording schedules or will the PVR know that AllTV is now on channel 511 and continue on with the recordings?

Unfortunately, there's a few good channels not in HD yet.

As long as the station itself doesn't change the recordings should be fine. The only time I have had a problem with recordings due to a situation like this was when CTV HD started broadcasting the local station instead of the national feed.

Another tip for those, if you cancel chanels 23 through 150 something you can save almost $40 on your bill (and still keep your 200's) if you are on the right plan.
