I got
1. Valimaki
2. Andersson
3. Kylington
4. Mangipane
5. Parsons
6. Dube
I think the ceiling on the 3 d is highest and mangi has showed the most at the pro level myself.

If you go strictly with how they produced at the AHL level I would say Foo is being overrated by many. Mangiapane was a lot better than Foo in Stockton and he's 3 years younger. The NHL sample size was too small to really compare the two. I think Foo has a very good chance of being another Agostino. Get a handful of games at the NHL level but not capable of making the next step. Out of the remaining guys I put Parsons, Kylington, Mangiapane, Phillips, and Gillies ahead of Foo.

I'm hoping for a runoff. I WANT to believe in Parsons but I just can't yet.

I need to see more of Parsons too. ECHL time isn't enough for me to put him over Kylington or Mangiapane.

Our ECHL team wasn't particularly good right? I think it's hard to put blame on him for poor stats if the team can't defend or score enough.

I don't understand why Parsons seems to be touted higher then Gillies now ? I really like Parsons. I really like Gillies. I personally feel they have a similar ceiling, so I'd go with Gillies who is more developed.

Parsons is younger, so he has more untapped potential. He could turn out to be anything, even a Gillies!

They are both good young goalies. How hard they push themselves and how they develop is anyones guess.
But Gillies doesn’t have the raw talent Parsons does.

If it goes to a runoff Parsons will not win.
Right now the thought group that puts forwards before goalies in importance is being vote split.

-Mangiapane did not look out of place during his call up, in fact he appeared to be creating opportunities despite being surrounded by stone hands. It has been universally recognized on these pages that he was poorly utilized by GG
-Maybe the worst call up ever...really? Based on what? The Grit Index?
Please go find another player to irrationally hate on (I recommend Brouwer)

Mangi played almost exclusively with Jankowski as his centre. His wingers were Versteeg (not a fourth line scrub) Hathaway (his AHL line mate and Bennett.

A year ago, Parsons was considered by many to be the team's top prospect. Even on CP, he was voted #2 behind Jankowski. Everything he did in the OHL and at the Under 20 Worlds suggests he has the potential to be a legit NHL starter.
Then he had a bad year and struggled with injuries.
So I get that the bloom is off the rose. But if he lives up to the pedigree he showed in his OHL career, he is a better goalie than anyone else in the system and is a more impactful prospect than anyone left on the board. The question is whether last year was just a bad year or more than that. Personally, I don't think you can give up on a prospect that quickly.

Flames need Parsons to be a true #1, but that doesn't get him the ticket there.

Below is a list of Mangiapane's line mates and frequency from Dobber Sports. I think it's fair to say he could of had better line mates.
Even Strength Line Combinations
Freq Line Combination
54.1% LAZAR,CURTIS - MANGIAPANE,ANDREW - STAJAN,MATT
24.9% HATHAWAY,GARNET - JANKOWSKI,MARK - MANGIAPANE,ANDREW
10% BROUWER,TROY - MANGIAPANE,ANDREW - STAJAN,MATT
7.9% BENNETT,SAM - BROUWER,TROY - MANGIAPANE,ANDREW
3.1% HATHAWAY,GARNET - MANGIAPANE,ANDREW - STAJAN,MATT

Versteeg and Mangiapane never played in the same game, let alone on the same line.

Maybe the worst 10 game NHL stint ever.
You are making a point on how bad the NHLe is as a metric.
Kyle Connor did not come close to putting up Mangiapane-like numbers in the AHL and scored at the 60 pt level in the NHL.
Nic Petan has nearly as great AHL numbers , but scores at a 4th liner rate in the NHL.
They are different leagues.

Hmmm...a talented young Flames forward struggled to produce?
Who were his linemates?
Oh, right...
It’s almost as if circumstance (line-mates) is an important part of successfully developing young players at the NHL level.

Parsons for me; the year he won the memorial cup with Matty was something special also winning WJC Gold and following that up with a season where he basically strapped a London Knights team to his back that literally had just lost its entire 1st line in Tkachuk / Dvorak / Marner and almost went on a deep run again.
He’s our best drafted goalie prospect that we’ve had in quite sometime much more so than Gillies IMO.

I'm not giving up on him at all. But I am hedging, and I think both Kylington and Mangiapane at this point have higher floors than Parsons. The sky is the limit for Parsons' upside, but if he doesn't adapt his talents fully to the pro game, he might never advance beyond ECHL starter/AHL backup.
I think Mangiapane is likely to be a regular NHLer when all is said and done. Sad to say, I doubt whether he'll still be in the Flames' organization when he gets there.
