Huh, I guess I'm ignorant, cuz I never thought frog was derogatory. I likened it to calling a Canadian a hoser, or an American a Yank. Like a fun phase thrown about for good ribbing.

Man, people need to lighten up. For the record my gf is from Montreal and she always jokes she is my little frog and will send me cute frog emojis in her messages. It wasn't meant slander anybody, it was a silly comment. If I actually offended anybody with that I apologize.
my bad I didn’t even get the Mr Sticky reference. All good!
Not trying to imply you meant to slander anyone - just that frog is yet another one of those terms that is probably fine amongst friends but not really public ok if that makes sense? hell it was an issue even 18 years ago long before this was a hot topic https://www.theglobeandmail.com/amp/...ticle25452504/ anyway i’ll bow out, didn’t mean to derail.

While they've tried a bunch of combinations, I don't think he's been given a real shot with the ones that could work well. I think he needs some time with the same centre.
At the same time, I'm pretty dubious that the centre to get him going is Jankowski.
His most common combination is with Backlund and Tkachuk (48 minutes), second is Bennett and Jankowski, then Ryan and Bennett and Ryan and Dube.
The most effective combination for Neal so far (terms of play) has been Backlund and Bennet (xG+ .71) was with Backlund and Bennett, second has been with Jankowski and Bennett (XG+ .53).
His worst has been Backlund/Tkachuk at -.67
Gaudreau/Monahan 2nd worst at -.53
If Peters is seeing the same I blame them for keeping him away from the top two pairings.
If Neal and Bennett have the best chemistry so far, and if we're keeping with pairs at forward lines....then why not Johnny/Mony, Backs/Chucky, Benny/Neal?
Play Bennett as a C again if you have to...
...although I'm hoping to see some Benny success on the 2nd line
I feel like we need to see if we can put together two real scoring lines, and then a true defensive shutdown line centered by Backlund. Counting on Tkachuk+Backlund to be our second best scoring line, while also being required to shut down other teams top lines, may be hurting our overall depth.
This feels way more balanced to me. And think Ryan can fit in on that Backlund line - Peters has already shifted some of the tougher competition and zone starts away from Backlund and to Ryan.

Only issue I have or see with this is that the backlund line will still get more ice time than the 2nd line because they will still be required to shadow the other team's top players so i still don't know that this creates the depth we need but i would still like to see this happen, and would probably be awesome against a more balanced opponent like vegas, st. louis or minny where they aren't as top heavy

That's my concern too but I think we need to trust that our top 2 lines can take the odd shift against the other teams top line and still drive play.
For defensive zone faceoffs then sure hard match against the other teams top line but they shouldn't have to play every second against the other teams top lines.
I feel like some other top lines might not like playing against Tkachuk, Bennett, & Neal either if they bring a gritty, physical, but skilled game each night.

I like these lines. I haven't liked Tkachuk and Neal together because they don't seem to have the foot speed, but I am very intrigued of having Bennett with them. That could be the most hated line in hockey and might be what Bennett and Neal need to get them going.

Blue dots do not mean unsold. Just that they are for sale. Lots of season ticket holders post on the ticketmaster exchange. Ticket have been sold, the owner is just reselling. Not an uncommon occurrence for these games. In fact probably more likely as selling a pair to this game could pay a good chunk of your season ticket cost.
